The 2022 David M. Drylie, MD Visiting Professorship
Lecture & UroGators Alumni Weekend
October 6 – 8, 2022
On October 6 - 8, 2022, the UF Department of Urology and the UroGators Alumni Society will celebrate what has become a much anticipated and much appreciated visiting professorship weekend.

Our honored guest for the 8th Annual David M. Drylie Visiting Professorship will be Dr. Seth Lerner from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. This event, as in years past, will be a mixture of academic focus with relaxed social gatherings that will include our residents, faculty, alumni and Dr. Lerner, along with our extended staff and families. The combination of a scholarly activity with family friendly relaxation is what defines this event. The Visiting Professor/UroGators Alumni Weekend is a vital part of our department. It exposes our residents to thought leaders from around the country and enhances UF Urology’s reputation and national prestige.
On Friday, October 7 we will honor Dr. Robert Newman as our UroGators Alumni Society Golden Gator Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient. Dr. Newman and his wife Lynn have been integrally involved in the growth, prominence and prestige of UF Urology for many decades. He has served many vital roles including chief of the division and the inaugural interim chairman. Dr. Newman continues to this day to prioritize and emblemize the tripartite mission of UF Urology represented by clinical care, research and education.

This prestigious award has been presented only two times in the past and Dr. Newman joins Drs. Dixon Walker and Zev Wajsman as prior honored recipients. The UF Department of Urology and the UroGators Alumni Society pays tribute to our proud heritage and to our bright future.

Information regarding Dr. Newman's reception, as well as all other weekend activities can be found by visiting https://bit.ly/34MlZpx. We hope to see all of you in Gainesville in October.
