Make this your

new meeting spot!

If you have not been to Donut Star yet, put it on your must visit list. Not only are the donuts delicious, we know the coffee is top notch because it is from Tapestry…BUT ALSO…it is a great place for a morning coffee meeting! It has giant window walls on three of the four sides, and a very large seating area of tables and chairs - making it such a bright and cheerful place to meet. Whether there are two of you, or ten, this is a great spot on the north side of town to gather!

Wednesday - new location!

All meetings (really) should

be on a patio

The Chamber Foundation Board took our August meeting on the road, thanking one of our (award-winning) Suds for Scholars brewers – Lakeville Brewing. While Suds 2026 is still quite a ways out, we are already talking about our 2026 scholarship program. If you would like to learn about our Named Scholarship program (100% pass through), or submit your intent to donate a named scholarship for 2026, click HERE.

Welcome Newbies!

Thank you to all the businesses who donated toys and trinkets to our annual New Teacher Welcome bags! You helped give them all a very warm welcome to our community and the 2025-26 school year!

First one of the

2025-26 school year!

For those that might not know, the Chamber visits each of our school buildings every school year, serving a continental breakfast, giving away a prize or two, and talking to our teachers about the ways in which the business community does/can partner with them throughout the year to help students with career exploration and workforce readiness. Thank you to

Hy-Vee for donating the food and a huge shout out to Lakeview Bank, our 2025-26 Teacher Breakfast sponsor!

Speaking of Workforce Development

Lakeville is now a certified

FILM READY COMMUNITY!

The Lakeville Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Lakeville have partnered with Explore Minnesota to become a Certified Film Ready Community – a designation that helps position Lakeville as a potential location for film, television, and media productions!

Explore Minnesota’s Film Ready Community Program simplifies the process for production companies by:

- guiding permitting and logistics

- showcasing local sites and spaces

- supporting access to resources

- building relationships with production teams

As part of the program, Lakeville submits a portfolio of unique filming locations to their database, giving producers a feel for what our area has to offer, from scenic parks to historic architecture to vibrant commercial districts. In recent years, Minnesota has been working to make our state more attractive to filmmakers, including passing the Minnesota Film Production Tax Credit, which offers incentives to companies that spend at least $1 million in eligible production costs within a 12-month period. These productions bring valuable economic activity to our local businesses, including hotels and restaurants, retail stores, rental companies, gas stations and so much more!

Help us land any project large or small! If you own a location or business you would like to consider for a production, please LIST YOUR LOCATION onto Explore Minnesota’s Film website! https://mnfilmtv.org/location-guide Or for help adding one, reach out to our new certified film ready liaison at jeanne@visitlakeville.org

… You don't have to put 2 spaces after the period anymore. That was for the typewriter era. You're free.
