Canine Assisted Therapy was on hand to take part in Broward Health’s Thanksgiving Basket Drive-Thru on November 21st.
Thanksgiving baskets with all the fixings were distributed for free to deserving families at the Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale. Therapy dogs, along with Panther’s mascots and cheerleaders, provided some fun and smiles to families as they drove thru to receive their basket.
This month therapy teams have also been busy making visits to:
His House Children's Home - A pet therapy team has been going there weekly to visit one of the homes with young children, allowing them to spend time cuddling with therapy dog, Macy, while teaching them how to safely interact with dogs. Visits are outdoors to ensure everyone's safety.
Covenant Living - Since August, therapy teams have been visiting the senior residents on a bi-monthly basis. Therapy dogs meet with small, controlled groups of individuals in a large room where they can engage with the animals safely.
Connections Therapy 4 Kids - A special visit was made to assist the Physical Therapist with patients working towards reaching specific goals. Therapy dog, Charli, was on hand to motivate and encourage the children.
