Family Promise Morris County hosted a Friendraiser, its first in-person event for 2021! Community members and supporters gathered at the day center to hear the latest goings-on at Family Promise and to hear a graduate of our program tell her story.

We enjoyed connecting with friends and meeting new neighbors in Morris County! Thank you to all who came out!

What do you like most about working with Family Promise? I enjoy the opportunity to help and interact with people face-to-face by creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable and respected. I try to encourage a family service activity where parents and children can volunteer together, as I did with my daughter when she was young. I also enjoy the many good friends and relationships I’ve made over the years with volunteers from my church and our support congregations, and the Family Promise staff.

Favorite vacation spot and why: I have been going to Lake Naomi in the Poconos for many years where I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and “forest bathing” in the fresh clean air of the state forest.

How would your friends describe you? My friends say I am understanding, conscientious, dedicated, helpful to friends using excellent problem solving skills, and concerned about those in need.
