A New Journey

Dear Spreckels Friends,

I am excited to announce that I have accepted a position with the City of La Mesa as a Recreation Supervisor of Special Events and my last day will be March 29.

There are few locations that would tempt me to leave this beautiful City and the wonderful people I have had the privilege to serve during my four years here. The City of La Mesa is not only offering a position that aligns with my skillset and personal goals, but the bonus is that this is the community I’ve raised my children in. I’m sure you can understand the special pull that would have…

As I have prepared for a new transition in my career, it has allowed me to reflect on the years I have had the opportunity to grow here. I am so grateful for all the individuals who have encouraged and supported me as I have sought to bring the best programming possible to the Spreckels Center. Thank you!

Each day I came to work my goal was to provide the individuals that entered our center with a place of belonging, learning and fun. I can honestly say that you, the guests, have contributed so much to making the center a bustling welcoming place for all mature adults and I will miss seeing your smiling faces and kind words.

I know that I’m leaving you in good hands. We have an incredible staff that will carry on and continue to bring incredible activities for you!

While I will not be here daily, I hope to run into you on the streets as I visit. Once again, thank you for making my time here so fun and enjoyable.

Sincerely,

Julie Aguilar

Recreation Coordinator
