WELCOME!

Plans to go away for the holiday weekend? You may need to pack a swim suit AND a parka or umbrella! Last weekend's 7" of snow at Bear Valley sure didn't indicate it is now mid-May. Our pool was ready a month ago for warm weather enjoyment, but it looks as if our holiday "stay-cation" won't include a dip into those crystal-clear waters! This is a lesson in spontaneous, thank you Mother Nature.

In the meantimeno guessing is required to check out our upcoming class schedule--some new topics and some old favorites for those of you who have missed joining a past topic. We look forward to cooking with you! Please note that the Saturday, June 1, "Loads of Lemons" private party has come up short on their guest count and have invited YOU and up to three of your friends to join the early afternoon event! As the very popular Lemons class is usually offered only in January and February, this could be your chance to get in on the delicious fun and enjoy the savory lemony lunch--12N-2pm! Round up your BFFs and call quick to register 368-3033 ($65/person includes full meal and wine) before someone else gets your seats!

The Spring quilt show is hanging in our Grand Central Kitchen... it is the 16th show we have hung and still not one duplication of entries! There are 8 fabulous designs, and one is for sale--It would be great as a wall hanging for a child's room--a wonderful, and affordable gift for baby shower, birthday or Christmas. "Uncle Sam" and "The Zoo" quilts are not to be missed, AND we encourage photography. Many thanks to quilters Cathie Billiet, Virginia Lanphear, Carole Price, Penny McClanahan, Helen Tellyer and Alice Cox for sharing their creations with us. Come in and see the display--just a week or two left for viewing.

On May 7, we were honored with the Tourism Advocate of the Year award from the Visit Lodi! Conference Bureau, in tandem with Winery of the Year award winner Bokisch Winery. Such an eventful day! It was a joy to celebrate at Wine and Roses with a delicious luncheon, Bokisch wine, and all of our family, staff, and community business neighbors to cheer us on!

Our team has some new faces, too. Please give a warm welcome to Julie and Aleyda, both training to be part of our awesome cheesemonger team. A bittersweet farewell to one of our team members, who you see at the register, as she tackles a cross-country move! So, we are looking for someone to train in this position. Check out our website job description for POS/Delectable Pantry. YOU may be our next new face! Apply asap....

Have a safe and fun weekend, everyone! Thanks for your patronage, we hope to see you soon

With appreciation,

Cindy and Staff
Karen, Gioia, Julie, Aleyda, Janet, and Angelo
Learning about a region or a country is often done by sampling its cuisine. I am asked frequently how to pair food with wine, or beer, and my answer is always the same: you can find out what the area produces, and it will be a sure bet that the products pair well together! Cultures have naturally made their food items compatible, or pair well together, just to make daily dining a pleasurable experience! Terrior is reflected in many foods, either in the "growing" part, or the "artisan" part of producing delicious cheese, breads, sauces, wines, and more.

Our cheese classes, from the class entitled Regional Cheese to the class entitled Cheese 101A, are designed to give you the tasting opportunities that will light your imagination on fire! Interesting AND delicious, fun AND entertaining! You might even have the best new conversation at the next cocktail party you attend...

Register now! We would love to see you soon...

EMPLOYMENT
OPPORTUNITY

As one of our job opening ads quipped:

"Are you the wedge to complete our wheel?" We are looking for an enthusiastic go-getter for the POS/Delectable Pantry opening coming up in June for our team. Work availability for morning or afternoon shifts Monday through Sunday (up to 25 hours per week), alternating weekends with our other POS team member. Will reasonably work around school schedules. Must be 21 or older to sell our beer or wine.

Our easy training program will teach you all about the wonderful delectable pantry products we carry to pair with our cheeses--and you MUST taste and sample everything (yup, that's the dirty job everyone wants!)

See our website "Contact Us" page for the Employment Opportunities section, and follow the directions. We look forward to hearing from YOU!
