Event Logistics:
Details:
We will meet at 9:30 am at the Yorkville post office (directions to follow upon registration) and carpool to the Preserve.
If you have a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle and are willing to drive, please indicate in your registration email to Trey Petrey.
We will spend most of our time exploring one gorgeous stand of both deciduous and evergreen oaks. You will be asked to sign a waiver. There is a restroom available at two stops. No pets or smoking are permitted.
What to Bring:
Bring water and a snack and we will provide lunch under the trees. If you have close-focusing binoculars, those would come in handy, along with regular binoculars. If you don’t have any, Kate will have some of the former to sell. An oak identification guide might be useful if you have one. If not, she’ll have some of those and her book to sell. After hearing her, you will surely want a copy. Light-colored long pants are recommended in tick territory. Hat and sunscreen always a good idea. Bring a camera or smartphone as we would love to record what we find.
