GLCEDC Highlights
2018 is off to a meaningful start, the GLCEDC has distributed two Building Improvement Grants, added three new members, and facilitated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M.) round table discussions with three school districts in conjunction with businesses such as: Caterpillar, CIRBN, OSF HealthCare - St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Selig Group, Slagel Manufacturing, Technical Metals, Vactor, and others.
New Building Improvement Grants
So far, in 2018, the GLCEDC has provided two Building Improvement Grants. Building Improvement Grants are intended for small businesses which rehab vacant space or improve occupied structures.

J. Marie's Salon & Day Spa was approved for a $2,245 grant to replace the windows in the front of their building.
The Cup and the Scone was approved for a $5,000 grant to improve the interior of their building.

S.T.E.M. Round Table Discussions
The GLCEDC facilitated three S.T.E.M. round table discussions with the LACC , Pontiac District #429 , and Woodland District #5 in conjunction with local businesses such as Caterpillar , CIRBN , OSF Healthcare - St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center , Selig Group , Slagel Manufacturing , Technical Metals , and Vactor . The discussion showcased the progress being made at each district and provided employers an opportunity for oversight and comment on curriculum and programming.

Updated GLCEDC Website
The GLCEDC has updated its website to make it easier for our readers to navigate. We also included two new sections: Grants and Jobs. The "Grants" section contains a description and an application for grants provided by the GLCEDC. The "Jobs" section contains job postings from Livingston County area employers. Upcoming Event: 9th Annual GLCEDC Golf Outing
The GLCEDC will host its 9th Annual Golf Outing on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Dwight Country Club. The GLCEDC Golf Outing is an excellent opportunity to reconnect with existing friends and to meet new people.
