Logan Airport's Dynamic Role
in an Innovation Economy
2018 was  Logan Airport's Busiest Year In History.

International passenger service is t he fastest growing component in Logan Airport's rise to national prominence, accounting for one third of the airport's growth. At the same time, international airfreight at Logan increased by 71% from 2010 to 2017. 

These factors have helped Logan to stimulate Massachusetts' innovation economy and enhance Boston's stature as a global city. Our MassBenchmarks journal takes a closer look. 
UMass Civic Initiative again visits Pakistan to run programs and connect with alumni

Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Karachi. These are faraway places for most of us but they're familiar territory for the UMass Civic Initiative. In January, staff and students traveled there  again   to continue several international exchange programs. 
With a coast-to-coast reach, NFFS gives a big boost to nonprofits

The Institute's Nonprofit Funding & Fiscal Solutions (NFFS) group focuses on supporting the financial strength of nonprofit organizations. Led by Director Sharon Vardatira and her 20+ years of nonprofit consulting experience, NFFS provides customized consultation, coaching/mentoring, and hands-on intervention to enable clients to strengthen and expand their fund development capacity, manage their finances, and respond to funding crises.

While their  client base includes organizations from across the country with a variety of missions and populations served, one of their current clients is a perfect example of the breadth of services they provide. Safe Harbor Youth in Alabama is a nationally-recognized provider of direct services to youth victims of human trafficking.
