Clark Leads Q&A in Vandalia
Apr. 7, 2021 | Illinois Chamber’s VP of Investor Relations, Lanae Clarke spoke to the Vandalia Chamber of Commerce regarding legislative initiatives. There were 40+ attendees with a Q&A segment that allowed attendees to call on downstate matters including workers’ compensation, full reopening for all businesses and concerns with the increase in minimum wage.

SB 2531 (Stoller) is a work around to the federal $10,000 state and local tax deduction cap and passed with broad bipartisan support. May 5, 2021 | Illinois Chamber President and CEO Todd Maish spoke to Wendell Hutson with Crain's Chicago Business on Illinois being ranked one of the worst states to do business in for the eleventh year in a row. "High taxes are definitely a main factor why Illinois does not fare well when it comes to rankings,” Maisch said.

Jun. 29 2021 | Illinois Chamber President and CEO Todd Maisch spoke to Alyssa Hui with WICS on SB 1847 that requires businesses with at least 100 employees to give certain employment information to the Illinois Department of Labor starting in 2022. “Transparency is what we are fine with as long as it’s not tilting the playing field to manipulate the data to facilitate lawsuits, that’s not what we are for,” said Maisch.
Jun. 30 2021 | Illinois Chamber President and CEO Todd Maisch spoke to Peter Hancock with Capitol News Illinois on Illinois’ GDP growth in the first quarter of 2021. “I think that is substantially stimulus, which means borrowing money from China and throwing it into the Illinois economy,” Illinois Chamber of Commerce President Todd Maisch said during an interview. “But there's no substitute for basic demand in the economy. So as much as (President Joe) Biden wants to spend more and more trillions of dollars, there's no substitute for basic demand in the economy. And we're still lacking that, there's no doubt about it.”
