Seating Clinic clients are now being seen in-person at 68 Sweeten Creek in Asheville! Our physical therapist works with clients to obtain complex rehab technology wheelchairs and customized seating systems.
The Seating and Wheeled Mobility Clinic joined MountainCare in March of 2020, just as the pandemic struck. Even with COVID-19 restrictions in place, the clinic has already served over 250 clients in its first year alone!
Wondering what to expect? Before your first appointment, MountainCare collects information such as your medical history and current seating needs to prepare for your visit. The initial evaluation lasts about 2 hours, including trials with various seating products and wheelchairs. Clients will then work with their physician to obtain funding approval for their new equipment. Once approved, you are invited back to have your body shape captured. Finally, when your new system is ready, you will be seen by the same team of experts for fitting and training. Follow-up appointments are always available as your needs evolve!
