Reasons Why Regular Inspections Are Necessary
By Otto Marquez, Property Inspector
A property well maintained is a property where one can live peacefully. Conducting regular inspections becomes a vital part of keeping properties well-maintained. For instance, regular inspections can prevent serious problems down the line and save owners money on issues like dripping faucets, leaking P-traps under the sinks, microbial growth on bathrooms and closets, defective detectors, damage caused by the rain or wind, unsafe electrical conditions, and inadequately secured or vented water heaters.
Additionally, inspections serve as a way to find out how tenants are treating and keeping the property when it comes to cleanliness and the overall condition of the property. It is also a way to make sure that tenants are following their lease agreements, which helps with checking that tenants are not installing something unauthorized, removing the detectors, painting the unit without authorization, or replacing plumbing fixtures.
Lastly, these inspections not only help find issues with the property but also gives a way to facilitate communication between owners and tenants, making it possible to maintain the property in good condition.
