Roof Inspections
By Luis Hernandez, Property Supervisor

Just like a car, a roof requires periodic maintenance and inspections to function at its best. Therefore, an annual roof inspection is the best way to go to ensure that roofs have a long and healthy lifespan.

Roof inspections become a very essential part of the rainy season. During this time, roofers are usually sent out to inspect the roof. This helps to identify roofs that are unsafe or in poor condition.

The inspections also help provide repairs before they become major problems, which can be costly for owners in the long run. Also, roof vendors tend to provide free inspections and estimates, making it easy to handle the repair process from start to finish ensuring that quality work is performed. Having a roof inspected annually will not only save one money but will also provide peace of mind for years to come.
Reasons Why Regular Inspections Are Necessary
By Otto Marquez, Property Inspector

A property well maintained is a property where one can live peacefully. Conducting regular inspections becomes a vital part of keeping properties well-maintained. For instance, regular inspections can prevent serious problems down the line and save owners money on issues like dripping faucets, leaking P-traps under the sinks, microbial growth on bathrooms and closets, defective detectors, damage caused by the rain or wind, unsafe electrical conditions, and inadequately secured or vented water heaters.

Additionally, inspections serve as a way to find out how tenants are treating and keeping the property when it comes to cleanliness and the overall condition of the property. It is also a way to make sure that tenants are following their lease agreements, which helps with checking that tenants are not installing something unauthorized, removing the detectors, painting the unit without authorization, or replacing plumbing fixtures.

Lastly, these inspections not only help find issues with the property but also gives a way to facilitate communication between owners and tenants, making it possible to maintain the property in good condition.
COVID Free Workplace
By Martha Gonzalez, Front Desk Receptionist

Here at Ernst and Haas, we take the health and safety of all our staff, tenants, and owners very seriously. With that being said, since the start of COVID-19, we have implemented various new sanitation protocols that are designed to minimize the spread of COVID 19 in the workplace. The staff is required to sanitize all common areas and wear a mask at all times while walking around the office.

The lobby is also fully sanitized daily in order to ensure that all walk-in guests feel at ease and safe when entering our office. We periodically are trained to pay close attention to high traffic areas and we make sure those locations are wiped down at the start and finish each workday.

These are unprecedented times so we have to take every step necessary to ensure that we are maintaining a COVID-free work environment so that our doors can remain open and so that we can continue to provide the wide variety of property management services that our clients are accustomed to.
