Women Empowering Women
Women's Empowerment Breakfast
OYC Miami and Honey Shine hosted a Women’s Empowerment Breakfast to celebrate the women who work daily at OYC and Honey Shine as mentors, teachers and role models to hundreds of youth. This empowering breakfast was lead by Tina Brown, OYC Miami CEO, who served as moderator with panel of exceptional women. The panel included Honey Shine founder, Tracy Wilson Mourning, OYC Miami Board Chairwoman Michelle Febres, as well as City of North Miami Commissioner Daniella Jean and OYC Miami Building Project Manager / Architect Chenera Anderson. This dynamic group engaged in a dialogue that focused on their shared experiences as professional women navigating the challenges and complexities of balancing career and family life, disparities in the workplace as well as their personal journeys and life anecdotes.

Super Saturdays are
Super-rific
From January to May OYC host Super Saturdays. Super Saturdays provide youth with enriching STEM activities. Always overflowing with superness, our superheroes students have an amazing time filled with fun and learning.
Digital Training Graduates
Did you know that OYC offers Digital Skills Training for adults? This training sessions provides adults with technology tools to advance their professional skills. Over the course of five weeks men and women learn ways to strengthen their personal and professional skills using technology. ⠀⠀
The Power of Visulaization
Equally important to Honey Shine's mission to empower girls while encouraging the balance of mind, body, and soul in girls and women, the program also knows the importance of feeding the spirit of the women in our community.
Upcoming Events
Overtown Young Professionals (OYP) is a group of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 39. OYP exists to empower future leaders of our community to engage, connect and support the mission of the Overtown Youth Center. OYP members will serve as ambassadors to raise awareness about the transformational programs that provide youth and families the support necessary to bridge educational, social, emotional, and opportunity gaps that exist in urban communities.
