Spring 2024

Message From The President

Hello Greater Texas NAPNAP members!

The days are getting longer and warmer temperatures are here (at least for now)! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and have had a great start to 2024.

We ended 2023 with our general chapter meeting and annual toy drive benefiting Genesis Women’s

Shelter. It was great to be together for an opportunity for learning, networking and service to our

community. Last month, a small group of us were able to serve dinner to the families at Ronald

McDonald House in Dallas. This event was definitely a highlight for me, and one I hope we are able to continue as an organization.

Next month, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners from all over the country will gather together in Denver,

Colorado for the annual NAPNAP conference. There is still time to register to attend in person, or they will have a virtual option available from mid-May through July 31, with access to over 80 recordings from the live presentations in Denver. Please find more information including registration here.

Throughout this newsletter, you will be able to read and learn about the exciting events we have

planned. If you have an exciting thing happen in your life or career, please let us know, we want to hear about it and celebrate you! Thank you for your dedication to our chapter, and for the amazing work you do with students, and your patients and families.

With gratitude,

Ashlyn Coenraad, MSN, APRN, CPNP

NAPNAP National Conference

The 45th annual NAPNAP National Conference is just around the corner in beautiful Denver, CO. This event will host more than 80 sessions covering a wide variety of pediatric topics with an estimated 100 hours of CEU's available. If you feel like taking a spring break trip, you can attend in person. If you can't quite make the journey to Denver, there is a virtual option that allows for on-demand access to the sessions. This conference not only addresses some of the hottest topics in the pediatric world, but it also gives attendees the chance to network with other providers and companies. Better hurry because you don't want to miss out on this opportunity. Click the link below to get registered today!

Members attended to show support for his re-election and to thank him for the work he is doing to support nurse practitioners in the state of Texas.

Children's Health in Dallas recently announced the plans to move forward on a 5 billion dollar project to increase the availability of inpatient, surgical, and ambulatory pediatric services. Click the link below to read the full article.

A PLACE FOR POSITIVITY

Ronald McDonald House

Recently, our Greater Texas Chapter of NAPNAP was able to serve those staying at the Ronald McDonald House near Parkland in Dallas. There were 8 Chapter members who were able to attend and serve the families who came through for dinner. Cowboy Chicken was served and due to the overwhelming success, the Ronald McDonald House has requested that we keep them in mind for our upcoming service projects whether it is serving another meal or hosting a movie night.
