Message from the Director

Dear Kate,

For twenty (!) years, I've worked alongside you as the Director of the Women's Fund. Reflecting on this milestone, my thoughts kept returning to you. In these decades, I've dedicated myself to upholding your trust as we work together to improve the lives of women and girls in our community.

Our nonprofit partners doing this important work need our support. The Women's Fund grant cycle closes at the end of March and I'm excited to share this year's recipients with you in the coming months.

But until then, I have stories of your impact over the last few months! This digital issue of Threads shares one special grant story from Bella Medical Clinic's parenting support program. We're also partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Oshkosh to host free parenting classes next month. Your generosity has made so much possible!

So much has changed in the last 20 years, but one thing has not: the heartfelt, steadfast commitment to uphold this mission that we share with you.

Thank you for sticking with me on this journey.

Sincerely,

Karlene Grabner | Executive Director, Women's Fund

SMART Campaign

Do you feel a constant pull towards your screen?

SMART social media consumption is possible.

This campaign is a roadmap.

After two years of engaging with mental health providers in our community, their feedback was both overwhelming and sadly unsurprising.

Screen usage, particularly social media, has a profound influence on our mental health. Our youth are especially vulnerable, as their brains are still very much in development.

What we learned led us to developing this campaign and a framework to help guide teens (and all social users) to take a SMART approach to screens.
