OLLI at SOU Open Today

Although today is Presidents Day, SOU and OLLI at SOU are open. Nearly all OLLI at SOU courses are in session, except for a handful as communicated by the instructor.

Spring 2025 Catalog PDF Online

Start looking over our exciting Spring Term courses in the Spring 2025 PDF catalog! Mailed catalogs should arrive early this week. Our Spring Term Membership Special, where individuals can join for spring term only for $75, starts next Monday.

Priority Registration takes place Monday, February 24–Friday, March 7. This first phase of registration is a two-week period when you may request and prioritize up to three courses. Priority Registration increases your chances of getting the course(s) you want. Remember that the waitlist is now ordered by the date and time that a course was initially processed. Getting priority requests in early only impacts the waitlist, not the computerized lottery. The Priority Registration Guide is available on our website.

Important Registration Dates:

• Monday, February 24: Online catalog live
• February 24–March 6: Priority Registration period
• Friday, March 14: Course assignments sent out
• Monday, March 17: Open Registration begins
• March 31–June 6: Spring Term 2025

2025 Collette Travel Presentation: Canyon Country (rescheduled)

Scottsdale, Kaibab National Forest, Grand Canyon, rafting on Horseshoe Bend, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Las Vegas. These are the exciting and significant places that you will visit on the Canyon Country trip September 5–12 with Collette Travel. Plus you'll have a sneak preview of our Africa trip in August 2026 (with OLLI at Boise State University).

One-time Presentation: Democracy in Germany

Join long-time OLLI instructor Udo Gorsch-Nies as he presents a lecture on Democracy in Germany. Udo will cover the history of democracy in Germany, including the Basic Law, federal structure, and voting system to include a discussion on the 1990 reunification.

OLLI at SOU Governing Council Meeting

OLLI at SOU's Council holds its monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 18, 3:30–5:30 p.m. at the SOU Campbell Center. This meeting is open to members and is offered in-person and via Zoom. Email olli@sou.edu to receive the agenda and Zoom link.

Lifelong Learning Opportunities

Members of the OLLI at SOU Watercolor SIG have brought their best work to the Ashland Senior Center as part of the Center's "Seniors Celebrating Creativity" series. The free exhibit may be viewed Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Visit our News & Events webpage for more details.

SOU Youth Programs is looking for Brain Bowl Competition volunteers. The deadline to sign up is Saturday, February 22 and the competition will take place on Saturday, March 15. Sign up and view more information.
