Spring Cups Webinar

The recording of the webinar held on March 5 is available. If you did not attend the webinar it is important for you to watch it to understand all procedures for the Cup

INITIAL ROSTERS DUE TODAY

Initial rosters are due by 7pm today, April 1. This is ONLY the initial roster and teams can still make changes prior to your first Cup match.

There are two steps to this process:

  1. All players competing for your team in a Cup must be entered in GotSport. Click here for an instructional video on how to enter players into your GotSport Roster
  2. You must upload a copy of your IYSA member competitive league roster showing all players as registered to your club. Instructions on how to upload those documents can be found here.

Roster rule reminders

  • A player can only be on one State Cup roster.
  • A player can only be on one Presidents Cup roster.
  • A player can only be on one Illinois Cup roster
  • A player CANNOT be on both a State Cup & Presidents Cup roster.
  • A player CAN be on an Illinois Cup roster and a State Cup or Presidents Cup roster.
  • Any player on your roster MUST be registered to your club and have a player pass listing them on your club to play for you in a Cup. GUEST PLAYERS FROM ANOTHER CLUB ARE NOT ALLOWED.
  • Once a team plays their first Cup group play match, their roster is FROZEN FOR THE DURATION OF THE CUP EVENT. No changes or additions even for injury.
  • Teams can roster up to 22 players. 18 can dress on match day.

SCHEDULE UPDATE

As play-in games are in the process of being played, here are some schedule reminders.

ALL TEAMS SHOULD CHECK THEIR GOTSPORT SCHEDULES AS THERE MAY HAVE BEEN CHANGES DUE TO TEAM ADVANCEMENT OR TEAMS DROPPING OUT.

HOME TEAM HOST GROUP PLAY GAMES

Any match on your schedule listed on May 12 for State Cup & Presidents Cup or May 26 for Illinois Cup is a HOME TEAM HOST game and must be played by that date at the home team's field.

Teams communicate and agree to a date and time to play that match by the play by deadline.

This information must be submitted NO LATER THAN APRIL 24 AT 3PM or seven days prior to the match, whichever comes first.

Home team host details are submitted via the online form found here.

GROUP PLAY GAME TIMES IN ROCKFORD

All games on May 17-18 are scheduled to be played in Rockford unless BOTH teams agree to play prior to these dates. For all group play games scheduled on May 17-18, there is a note on the GotSport schedule that says "12pm or Earlier" or "12pm or Later" . This gives all teams a tentative time frame of when that match will be played if it remains in Rockford.

  • 12pm or Earlier = a kickoff of 8am, 10am or 12pm
  • 12pm or Later = a kickoff of 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm or 7:30pm

IF PLAYING IN ROCKFORD TEAMS DO NOT SET/AGREE TO THE TIME OF THEIR MATCH. IYSA will assign all times for games in Rockford within the tentative time listed for the game.

May 17-18 group play game times will be announced by May 1.

MOVING GROUP PLAY GAMES OFF OF ROCKFORD For group play games scheduled in Rockford on May 17-18 teams can agree to move them to an EARLIER DATE.

Cup games CANNOT be played on May 17-18 at a location other than Rockford. If you want to play May 17-18 - you play in Rockford as scheduled by IYSA.

  • Moved State Cup and Presidents Cup games must be played by May 12
  • Moved Illinois Cup games must be played by May 26 (note Illinois Cup games cannot be moved to play on May 17-18 at a location other than Rockford)

Few notes on moving May 17-18 group play games away from Rockford

  • Both teams must be in agreement
  • Agreed upon game changes must be submitted no later April 24 at 3pm or 7 days prior to the the match date, whichever is first
  • IYSA will NOT accept games moved to another location on May 17-18

If both teams agree to a game change - that information must be submitted via the online form here.

Please note for home team host and moved group play games you will NOT get a confirmation of acceptance. If the game is posted in GotSport that means the information has been received, accepted and referees assigned.

GAME DAY

Teams need to bring each of the following for all Cup matches.

  1. Match card printed off GotSport. Click here for instruction on how to print match cards
  2. IYSA member league (CIYSL, IWSL, LDE, SLYSA-IL or YSSL ONLY) issued pass for all players on the match card.
  3. IYSA member league (CIYSL, IWSL, LDE, SLYSA-IL or YSSL ONLY) issued coaches/manager pass for any adult on the players sideline during the match.

HOW DO I REPORT THE SCORE OF MY GAME?

The winning team or home team if the match ends in a draw, does the following to report the score:

  1. Collect BOTH match cards from the center. The ONLY time the refs should keep the match cards is if there is a red card issued. If a ref keeps the match cards email chrisj@illinoisyouthsoccer.org
  2. Take a photo of BOTH match cards
  3. Email the photos to iysascoring@gmail.com

IF I LOSE A PRESIDENTS CUP PLAY-IN GAME AM I OUT?

If drawn into a Presidents Cup play-in game and your lose, your team has two options

  1. Continue into the Illinois Cup Gold. Each play-in game has a designated spot for a team to move into the Illinois Cup Gold.
  2. If you chose not to play in the Illinois Cup Gold, teams will be credited $600 towards a future Cup registration

I'M IN THE ILLINOIS CUP AND THERE ARE TEAMS MISSING FROM MY SCHEDULE - WILL TEAMS FILL THOSE SPOTS? For Illinois Cup Gold spots are still to be filled based on the Presidents Cup play-in games. Any spot in the Illinois Cup Gold schedule that says "IL Cup X: Team Name or Team Name" means it will be filled by the team that loses the Presidents Cup play-in. Some teams may elect NOT to go into the Illinois Cup so some brackets may be adjusted once we know which teams are continuing in that event. If a spot in the schedule is listed as "NO TEAM" - that means the team meant to fill that spot is NOT playing in the Illinois Cup and there will not be a game for this match-up.

For Illinois Cup Silver, any spot listed as TBD means that no teams has registered for that spot and at this point will not likely be filled. Teams who play less than 3 group play games will be credited a portion of their registration fee.
