This unique retelling of Shakespeare’s classic is a collaboration between the VWU Theatre and Music programs. The fairies groove a cappella and the visual vibe can only be described as "far out, man.” Join us for a spring production full of Peace, Love, and (Mis)Understanding.

Spotlight on Vocal Senior Annie O'Shea


Senior Elizabeth “Annie” O’Shea ‘25 credits her high school chorus teacher, VWU alumnus Ajee Church ’16, with giving her the confidence to pursue a career in music. The music education major begins her final semester on a high note: completing her capstone project and preparing for her senior recital.

Deke Sharon A Cappella Festival

Heralded as “The Father of Contemporary A Cappella,” Deke Sharon is a performer, arranger, music producer, author, producer, and coach who is credited by many as being responsible for the current sound of modern a cappella. While at college, he pioneered the dense vocal-instrumental sound that we today know as the sound of contemporary a cappella. The Pitch Perfect Producer, VWU's Vox Vera, and a capella ensembles from area high schools in the region present the closing concert of the festival.

Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art at VWU: Coming Soon!



Scheduled to open in January 2026, Virginia MOCA’s new site at Virginia Wesleyan University will be more accessible to residents and visitors. The new building expands education and exhibition space by 20%, bringing engagement and education experiences to the forefront. The innovative, versatile space will host a range of exhibitions, performances, and educational programs.

Women Working in the Arts

The Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies Program hosts a panel for Women's History Month. "Women Working in the Arts" will feature Alison Byrne, Execute Director of the Virginia MOCA, and Renee Duval Fairchild, Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Chrysler Museum of Art and VWU alumna. The speakers will discuss their education and experiences working in the field.
