A Message from the Chair

Hello UNC Asheville Computer Science students, alumni, friends, and community partners! I’m excited to announce that we now have a newsletter! My plan is to provide an update to the UNCA CS community about once per semester.

It has now been 6 months since Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina. While parts of Asheville and many businesses and homes are not yet repaired (or may never be), I am happy and thankful to say that UNCA and the Department of Computer Science are mostly back to normal.

Asheville Computer Science Day is back! Join us on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at UNC Asheville. Students should arrive by 1:30 to attend the Career Panel. DATASCI Scholarships

UNC Asheville’s Data Analytics Training and Scientific Computing Initiative Scholars program is funded by a $2 million NSF grant to provide full scholarships for students.
