Spring Newsletter

April 2025

Vibrate so high that

lights flicker, the matrix

glitches, and the

stagnant energies

automatically transmute

and neutralize just

because you stepped into the room

From the Acupuncture & Wellness Team

Finally, the long, dark, cold winter is done, and Spring has arrived with its light, growth and

movement.

As you may know, Edwin will be having surgery early in April and will be out on medical leave

for a few weeks. Please know that the entire staff will be here to assist you with anything you

need during his absence. We send love and prayers to Edwin for a quick recovery.

Donna, Edwin, and the entire staff would like to express our gratitude to all our patients and

our appreciation for your support. No matter what is going on, our joy is you. Your trust in us

as we try to support you on your health care journey keeps us going and brings us hope. You

take our work, raise your energy and go out to the world and spread that energy. Those

ripples of caring and love go out and are healing the world. Never doubt that you have a part

in that. Our hope is that all of us experience health and happiness, spreading love and joy in

ripples through the world. As always, we are here to help you in any way we can.

In Step With The Seasons

SIGN UP NOW

In Step With The Seasons, is an exciting new program we are developing to help our AWC and the larger community focus on reconnecting with self, community and nature in ways that are healing and supportive. The goal of In Step With The Seasons will be to tie together the comprehensive teachings of the Five Elements in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the wisdom and nurturing of being in Nature, and the nourishment and healing of food through Eating with the Seasons. Currently, we would like your input and comments about one of the components of this program that we will be implementing in conjunction with Lauren Bathgate, LCSW-C, PMH-C, (Guided in Nature). Lauren, and her unique approach to healing while being in Nature, will lead groups in a local park focusing on observing and being present while walking and moving in Nature in order to help us return to a sense of balance and healthy relationships. Many of us have become increasingly disconnected from one another, from ourselves, and from the natural world that is meant to support us. Our desire to help people reconnect with themselves, community and nature has inspired us to

create this seasonal walking/nature group and we would like your feedback to see who

would be interested.

Who can benefit from being a part of our nature therapy program?

Individuals struggling with feeling isolated and not feeling safe walking or being in

nature alone

Individuals looking for community

Individuals wanting to regain a sense of grounding/balance - physically, emotionally,

spiritually

Individuals wanting to move in an easy, non-stressful, non-judgmental group

Individuals wanting to reconnect with nature

Individuals just looking to get healthy.

When would this group meet?

We will follow the natural rhythms of the seasons according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), knowing that being in nature provides invaluable lessons to help us renew and restore our health and vitality. We will meet in 6 week increments each season, so you can participate in one or all seasons throughout the year. During each session Lauren would lead the group in nature-informed therapy activities which would also include gentle movement or walks. Currently we are looking to meet at Double Rock Park in Parkville, MD since there are easily accessible trails that could accommodate every level of walking ability. We will provide the exact dates after getting feedback from those interested in our nature therapy group. Based on some of your feedback last year, we will be adding another afternoon session to accommodate after work hours, so feel free to let us know if there are other weekdays and times that would work for you – or maybe a group of you and your friends.

Currently we are looking at the following days/times for the Spring Session:

Moving Into Spring by Jean Wible

As we enter the early days of the Spring Season, we are guided by the rising energy, growing

light and movement that nature shows us. Winter has been cold, and dark with an intensity of

emotions from a world struggling. It is likely that Spring will be intense as well. How do we deal

with the anxieties of life today?

We have spoken a lot over the last few newsletters about how to do little things each day to

ground ourselves, clear our energy, and keep our balance. Deep breathing morning and night,

taking time to connect with nature, stretching and smiling when we get up to start the day right

and more. Remember, Spring is the promise of renewed hope and the return of life; a time to

plant seeds and watch how life and beauty unfolds. What kind of seeds are we planting and

how are we nourishing ourselves and the earth so we can experience all the beauty life has to

offer.

Each day the light increases as we move toward spring. As we leave the stark beauty of winter,

with its brown colors and dry leaves on the ground, the seeds of life, movement, growth and

beauty blossom into spring. We need to take these signs of hope into our lives and offer light

and love in all the small ways we can. The reality is that little things done by many people can

create ripples of change. That is how we change the world. One small act at a time. Move, grow

and spread light. Stay grounded in love and connection.

“Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without words

And never stops at all.

And sweetest – in the Gale – is heard

And sore must be the storm,

That could abash the little Bird

That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chilliest land

And on the strangest Sea,

Yet – never – in Extremity It asked a crumb – of me.

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

By William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay:

Ten thousand saw I at a glance,

Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:

A poet could not but be gay,

In such a jocund company:

I gazed—and gazed—but little thought

What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,

They flash upon that inward eye

Which is the bliss of solitude;

And then my heart with pleasure fills,

And dances with the daffodils.
