MITES Saturdays Spring Orientation

Saturday, February 22, 2025

10:00 am - 3:30 pm

MIT Building E51 Tang Center - 2 Amherst Street, Cambridge MA 02142

We're so excited to welcome both our new and returning MITES Saturdays scholars for another STEM-filled semester!


*Please note: This orientation session is mandatory for both scholars and families. The schedule for this day is slightly different than regular sessions.


Arriving at Campus

  • 8:30 - Lawrence bus picks up Lawrence-based scholars and families at Lawrence High School
  • 9:00 - Sign in and breakfast for MITES Saturdays scholars and families begins
  • 10:00 - Orientation and Welcome Presentation
  • 11:00 - Student move to Academic Mentoring Seminar classes, families remain for Peace at Home Parenting Session "Tweens and Teens: When to Lean in, When to Let Go" (details below)
  • 12:00 - Families depart (transportation will be provided for Lawrence families back to Lawrence High School)
  • 3:30 - MITES Saturdays student dismissal


Arriving at Campus

  • MITES Saturdays students residing in Boston and Cambridge are responsible for their own transportation to and from MIT Campus. Please see map below for local MTBA stops as well as car drop-off locations.
  • Parking for orientation is in the MIT Sloan Garage (100 Main Street, Cambridge MA 02142). Parking is $11 and can be paid in the garage by card only. Entrance to the garage is on Main Street.
  • Other parking options can be found here.


Transportation From Lawrence

  • For our scholars joining us from Lawrence, transportation will be provided to and from Lawrence High School ((70-71 N Parish Rd, Lawrence, MA 01843)
  • The bus leaves Lawrence High School at 8:30am and returns at 4:30pm.
  • Families should have received an email from mchoui@mit.edu connecting them with our Bus Leader. If you did not receive this email, please reach out to mchoui@mit.edu!


Lost on campus? Running late?

  • Give us a call! We are available at 617-253-5063 all day on Saturday.

Tweens and Teens: When to Lean In, When to Let Go by Peace at Home Parenting

Orientation Family Session - 11:00-12:00pm

Families do not need to RSVP separately! We will transition to this workshop immediately following the welcome session.


Join us for an engaging and insightful session with Peace At Home teachers Tanika Eaves, PhD, LCSW and Aaron Weintraub, MS. You’ll gain tools to help your tween or teen thrive—and maybe even discover a little peace of mind along the way.

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their enrollment forms and survey! We are continuing to process these forms and will be in touch with individual students if we are missing anything.


If you received a message about your DocuSign forms, please look for an email from the DocuSign platform (and be sure to check spam/junk folders). Please be sure to fill in each form completely - all forms are required for MITES Saturdays enrollment!


To track your re-enrollment status, please visit our 2025 enrollment portal in Google Classroom (linked below)! The class code is ssxv7a2. Please use your full name when joining - we need to be able to easily identify you in the roster! You will need a personal google account (not linked to your current school) to join, and you may have to update your display name in your Google account settings to ensure it’s your full name.

  • MITES Saturdays Enrollment Survey  (in Qualtrics - completed every semester)
  • MITES Saturdays Enrollment Forms (must be completed by both students and parents in DocuSign every spring)
  • Upload a copy of your most recent report card (In Google Classroom, returning students only)
  • Upload a recent photo (In Google Classroom)
  • Read the Spring 2025 MITES Saturdays Students & Family Handbook
