Pillars of the Community Luncheon

Planning is underway for the 2026 Pillars of the Community (POTC) Luncheon honoring James Marshall, Chairman-Founder of Spectrum Investment Advisors. The POTC Luncheon will be held June 2nd at River Club of Mequon.

Last year, more than 275 guests gathered for this event, raising $66,000 to support MTCF’s general fund. These resources fuel future grants that enhance the quality of life throughout Mequon and Thiensville.

The MT Trails Foundation is pleased to announce that construction will begin this spring on the long‑anticipated Highland Road Bike Spur, a 1.5‑mile off‑road paved trail connecting the Ozaukee Interurban Trail to Rotary Park on the north side of Highland Road.  



MT Trails Foundation has officially selected Buteyn‑Peterson Construction Company as the contractor and raSmith as the project manager. The 10‑foot‑wide paved trail is on track for completion this fall, expanding safe, accessible biking and walking options in the Mequon-Thiensville area.

To celebrate the opening of the 2026 trail season and the construction on the Highland Road Bike Spur, MT Trails Foundation will host an expanded Celebrate Trails Day event on Saturday, April 25, in recognition of National Celebrate Trails Day.

This year’s event will take place at a new venue, the Foxyard at Foxtown Station, located along the Ozaukee Interurban Trail on Mequon Road. The celebration will feature live music, food, beverages, local bike shops, dog-focused vendors, E-bike/K9 visits from the Mequon Police Department, and more.

The event is hosted by MT Trails Foundation in partnership with Foxtown Brewing and Fromm Foods. Other sponsors include Rails to Trails Conservancy, Scenic Shore Bike Tour/Blood Cancer United, Trailside Recreation, and Wisconsin Bike Fed.

Community organizations and supporters are encouraged to participate. Partners who confirm attendance will be promoted through digital newsletters, social media platforms, community graphics, and printed flyers reaching thousands of local residents. Elli Becker, Attorney at Law

Jeremy Guth, Attorney at Law

MTCF is pleased to welcome Elli Becker, attorney at O’Leary-Guth Law Offices, S.C., to its Giving Advisory Team (GAT). Elli succeeds Jeremy Guth, whom MTCF sincerely thanks for his dedicated service since joining the team in March 2023.

During his tenure, Jeremy played a key role in developing MTCF’s current donor brochures and helped shape the foundation’s first donor educational series in October 2025, where he also served as a speaker and introduced Elli as a presenter on estate planning. He and his firm, O’Leary-Guth Law Office, S.C., have been strong advocates for promoting MTCF.

Elli brings expertise in estate planning and elder law, helping clients create comprehensive plans and navigate long-term and Medicaid planning. A graduate of Marquette University Law School, she earned the CALI Award in Trusts and Estates and holds a Bachelor of Arts with honors from UW–Eau Claire.

Elli is active in the community through the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Committee and is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, Ozaukee County Bar Association, and Milwaukee Estate Planning Forum.

New MPD Drone Team Helped

Locate Fleeing Suspect

The Mequon Police Department (MPD) drone was successfully used to assist the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office in locating an individual who fled from a traffic stop. The drone, piloted by Mequon Officer Logan Hipps, assisted tracking teams in locating the individual in a wooded area southwest of Port Washington Road and Lakefield Road.

The Department’s two drones were generously donated by the Mequon Woman’s Club with support from MTCF. The MPD Drone Program has consistently demonstrated its value in safely resolving incidents since it first began operation in October 2025.

MTCF is proud to support our local police department and enhance safety throughout our communities.

On January 13, MTCF proudly presented the Jonathan Clark House (JCH) with two checks totaling $9,819.77 at the museum’s annual meeting—an occasion that highlighted both recent preservation milestones and the community’s continued investment in local history.

A $6,000 fall grant helped complete the museum’s 2025 exterior renovation, which restored the building’s historic woodwork, windows, and architectural details. An additional $3,819.77 in donor-designated funds will expand JCH’s education efforts offered to the community.



"Our recent preservation project has been an important undertaking as we preserve the historic 1848 house. MTCF was here with us back in 2012 when the project was just a distant dream. We value our continued partnership with the Foundation,” stated Nina Look, Ph.D., JCH Executive Director.
