New Bookkeeper

Our current bookkeeping company (who has done an amazing job) has a new owner and they have decided to increase their monthly fee from $400 to $700 ($4,800/year vs $8,400/year) for the same scope or services. The board has been looking at new partners and identified Briden Management as our new provider at $550/month - a savings of $1,800 over the former bookkeeper's increased fee.

In addition to taking on bookkeeping, within the $550/month fee, Briden will also support the board with a suite of additional HOA management services such as meeting with grounds vendors, enforcing restrictions, collecting dues, and more. Thank you to Carmen and Francesca Tuzzolino for all the work they did to research and get multiple quotes from new providers.

You can view Briden's website and reviews here.

Slow Down - Help Keep Our Kids Safe

As the weather turns our kids will be hopping on their bikes and playing outside. Please be mindful to follow the 25 MPH speed limit throughout the sub.

Yard Waste Pickup

Yard waste pickup from the city will resume April 6th. Acceptable yard waste includes leaves, grass, shrub clippings, twigs, and plant materials. There are four options for yard waste disposal in the City of Farmington Hills:

  1. In the bag: Break down yard waste and fill brown paper yard waste bags to leave at your curb. You’ll need to roll the bags closed, so be careful not to overstuff them.
  2. In the can: Place yard waste in a trash can with a yard waste sticker on both sides. Yard waste stickers are available for free at City Hall or the DPW. These containers are limited to 35-gallon size.
  3. Make a bundle: Brush and small limbs of six inches in diameter or smaller can be tied in bundles no longer than four feet in length and weighing no more than 60 pounds per bundle. Unbundled brush, large limbs and large quantities of dirt or sod will not be picked up.
  4. Go green: Use a mulching mower to break down leaves and grass clippings to turn yard waste into eco-friendly lawn fertilizer.

Home/Yard Maintenance

To maintain curb appeal and comply with neighborhood and City ordinances, please remember to keep grass cut to 6 inches or less, trim bushes and shrubs, and remove weeds from flower beds and from between driveway and sidewalk cracks.

If you do not keep up on your landscaping responsibilities, you may receive a letter from the HOA. Further action with the city may result if action is not taken.

Reminder About Home Projects

It is always great to see all the wonderful home improvements throughout our neighborhood!  Please remember that our FSHOA has bylaws and covenants that were established to help maintain the beauty of our neighborhood and maximize home values for the benefit of everyone in the subdivision. One of the Board’s roles is to enforce these bylaws and we are grateful to you for your assistance.

Before beginning any outside projects, please review the bylaws and covenants at http://www.farmingtonsquare.info/rules--regs.html and contact the board for approval. This helps us maintain consistency throughout the subdivision and eliminates controversial situations. Questions and requests to make changes to the outside of your home or property should be emailed to farmingtonsquarebod@gmail.com. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Street Drains

A reminder for those with street drains in front of your house; please try to keep them clear of leaves in the fall and snow in the winter!

Your comments and suggestions are always appreciated
