Spring 2026 University Policy Updates

The following policies were approved by the Senior Policy Council and the President.

Policy on Registered and Trustee Student Organizations

(New)

Applies to: All campuses

Establishes a University-wide framework for overseeing Registered and Trustee Student Organizations, following the removal of related provisions from the University By-Laws. Defines roles and responsibilities for the University, advisors, and student organizations.

Capital Equipment and Controllable Property Tagging and Physical Inventory Policy

(New)

Applies to: All campuses

Consolidates the former Capital Equipment Tagging and Physical Inventory Policy with the Controllable Property Policy. Introduces new definitions for "Controllable Property" and "Custodian," and adds updated links to procedures and forms.

Confidentiality of Library User Records

(Revised)

Applies to: All campuses

Expanded applicability to all UConn Libraries. Revisions include clarified language and updated procedural links.

Digital Accessibility Policy (Revised)

Applies to: All campuses

Formerly the "ICT Accessibility Policy" the title was updated and applicability was expanded to include UConn Health. Aligns with new ADA Title II regulations effective April 2026.

(Revised)

Applies to: All campuses

Updated to reflect recent regulatory changes. References to the Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) have been replaced with the Office for Inclusion and Civil Rights (OICR).

Be sure to engage the Office of University Compliance early in the policy development process and submit final drafts before the policy submission deadline.

If a proposed new or revised policy applies to UConn Health, the policy must first be approved by the appropriate UConn Health policy committee. This will affect the policy submission deadline. Check the SPC website below for more information.
