Dear Parents and Friends, Thank you for entrusting us with your precious children. We had a wonderful year, watching them learn, develop and grow! We enjoyed the many lessons, projects and celebrations culminating with our graduations that took place at both our Warren and Scotch Plains locations. We wish everyone a happy, healthy and fun-filled summer break filled with adventure and of course, learning! We also hope you'll consider joining us for summer camp if you haven't already signed up. We have lots of great field trips activities and new course offering for the summer plus bus transportation to and from camp! For details see "Coming Up" section below. Pre-School - Warren & Scotch Plains

GRADUATION DAY HAS ARRIVED! THE FUTURE STARTS TODAY! This Friday June 22nd, 11-12:30pm, our students at both Scotch Plains and Warren will be graduating. We are so very proud of our graduates and know they will thrive next year in their Kindergarten and First Grade classes.  Parents, keep in mind that we will close at 12:30pm and there with no after care.

THREE CHEERS FOR THE RED, WHITE AND BLUE ! On Flag Day, Ms. Melissa, a teacher Intern was here in Scotch Plains to teach a lesson about the American Flag and patriotism. She also helped students bake an American Flag cake with fresh blueberries and strawberries. Delicious!

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM WALLS... Our Warren Students have been working hard outside of the classroom this Spring tending to their garden - planting seeds for vegetables and flowers and watering often. The class also enjoys eating their home-grown vegetables with lunch! Fresh and yummy! Our students also had a lesson in kite making -- learning about shapes and colors and why kites fly. Then they had some fun flying their kites around. They also love just being outside sitting on the grass or running around the playground.

FROM FARM TO CLASSROOM... Farmer Eric from Quiver Farm Projects was here in Scotch Plains to teach us about farm animals. He brought in his hen Gail and his rooster Shadow for the class to meet. He taught students about chick hatching and that an egg needs to flipped three times a day.

CELEBRATING OUR MOMS! Our moms joined us at both locations for a Mother's Day Tea and student presentation. Lots of hugs, kisses and smiles all around.

MOMMY & ME SPANISH! We have successfully completed our trial series of Mommy & Me Spanish at our Warren site. Moms and other other caregivers had the chance to enjoy a fun and engaging Spanish Immersion workshop. More Spanish to come... our Spanish immersion camp will kick off the week of June 25th. Dragon Boat Festivities! Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday t hat commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar Qu Yuan (Chu Yuan). To celebrate, our classes made Zongzi, rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo .

Grade School Happenings - Garwood

Always Learning, Always Improving! We had a productive year academically and socially, Our older students excelled in Chinese class and all passed their final exams! Speech students will partake in a speech contest along with an end-of-the-year celebration during the last week of school. The school year celebration will be held on Wednesday, June 20th.  A select group of our talented Chess students had the opportunity to compete in tournaments during the year and are well on their way to becoming national masters! English Language Arts and Math Enrichment classes wrapped up at end of May arming them with what they need to perform well on their state standardized testing (PARCC)! We're looking forward to an action-and-learning-packed camp for school age kids which will start in a week! There's still time to sign up if you haven't already! NEW THIS SUMMER! FINANCE 101 WORKSHOP :  6-Week Bank of America sponsored program where students learn the fundamentals of finance and the value of money. Teamwork and volunteering opportunities available for Middle School and High School students who would like to assist with this class.
