SPRING BREAK DAY CAMP AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER

Grades: K-6th
4/10-4/14 Monday-Friday 9:30am-4pm
Register for the week @ $276 OR
Sign-up for the day @ $65
Extended care available $88 for week or $18/day

Join our enthusiastic staff of trained recreation leaders for a lively and entertaining mix of activities, crafts, sports and spring surprises. Camp hours are 9:30am-4:00pm. Extended care is available before and after our scheduled camp hours; 8-9:30am and 4-6:00pm.  Camp is for children currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 6th grade.
 
  


CARPENTRY FOR KIDS CAMP

Carpentry for Kids is an education enrichment program for K-6 designed to teach boys and girls practical woodworking skills with an emphasis on the safe use of hand tools. These skills include measuring, fractions, sawing, drilling, rasping, fastening, sanding, shaping, and assembly. In the process of learning these skills, students will have an opportunity to create fun, functional and beautiful projects, and will be exposed to a variety of valuable concepts such as abstract reasoning, applied mathematics, problem solving, craftsmanship, fine motor skills, respect for  tools, and patience.



  



POOKIE NOOK - Spring House Building

Come make Poekies with  Sophia! For 17 years, Poekies have
introduced various hand-sewing  techniques to children age
6-12. Starting with  easy, beginning animals, students sew their way up to advanced Poekie animals.

Students are free to choose their projects depending on experience and ability. Week long camps will include two days of making Poekies and three days of creating houses, scenes and accessories for them, using fabric, cardboard, beads, etc. Wonder what a Poekie is? They're not just 'stuffed animals,' they inspire you to create your own world.  More details:

BOYLE PARK TENNIS SPRING BREAK TENNIS CAMP

4/10-4/14 Monday-Friday

Drop-in days @ $40/half day and &70/full day

Instruction, games, conditioning exercises, and lots of fun. Children will learn stroke technique, hand-eye coordination, footwork, scoring and tennis etiquette. This is a fun active camp that promotes tennis as a game kids will enjoy for the rest of their lives. Activities will be informally grouped by age and ability. Refreshments will be provided. All participants will receive a Boyle Park Tennis t-shirt. Extended Care available: 8:30-9:30am & 4-5pm.  $5 per hour block; pay at time of drop-off.

This coed basketball camp by National Academy of Athletics will emphasize the fundamentals for Shooting, Ball Control, Defense, Rebounding, Passing and Conditioning. Additionally, campers will participate in contests, games and other fun events. Campers are divided into groups by both age and ability. Have your kids join us for a week 20,000 leagues under the sea for magical days of Under Water inspired activities. Together students will play theater games, learn dance routines and enjoy theater based arts and crafts.  Fantastic Friday we will watch (water themed movie) and celebrate with pizza, popcorn and PJ's.  This week long camp culminates with a mini share out presentation for family and friends.  

All camp instructors are local performers and artists with a long history of working with children.  Every day campers will have a 60 minute lunch break and some outside play time.  Campers must bring a lunch, water bottle along with a yummy snack each day.

TEACHING ARTIST TRAINING PROGRAM WITH UNDER THE SEA CAMP coral_fish_redsea.jpg

Students are invited to develop their leadership skills in this artist development program.  In the mornings, students will assist in facilitation the Under the Sea program - student check in, warm-ups and theatre games.  In the afternoon, developing teaching artist will receive training in classroom management, audience engagement and conflict resolution. This program will be an enriching experience for mature and responsible middle school students. Theatre experience is a plus but not required to participate. 



  



ROAD WARRIORS CAMP

Teen Zone doesn't want you to spend your break sitting around doing nothing! So join us as we voyage forth on our annual Spring Break Road Warriors Camp! Each and every day we'll be headed to a new location for a day of fun and excitement! Planned trips include: House of Air, Indoor Surfing, Six Flags and more!
