Open Enrollment Begins March 25. Starting March 25, members are able to add as many courses they would like from the dozens of courses with open seats. Spring Term runs Monday, April 1, to Friday, June 7.

Spring 2024 Course Catalog Corrections

We have found an error on Page 11 of the printed 2024 Spring Course Catalog regarding Roy Sutton's two classes, "Ten Classic Comedy Films: Part 2" and "Ten Classic Musical Films: Part 2." The films listed in the print catalog are incorrect. The corrected descriptions are in our online catalog.

Ten Classic Comedy Films: Part 2 will start with 1923's silent film "Safety Last" with Harold Lloyd and finishing with 1988's "Coming to America" with Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. The other eight are "Sons of the Desert," "Way out West," "His Girl Friday," "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek," "The Ladykillers," "The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming," "Sleeper," and "Manhattan."

Ten Classic Musical Films: Part 2: will start with 1937's "A Damsel in Distress" with George Burns and Gracie Allen and finish with 1957's "Funny Face" with Audrey Hepburn. The other eight are "Broadway Melody of 1940," "Holiday Inn," "You Were Never Lovelier," "The Sky's the Limit," "Blue Skies," "Easter Parade," "Royal Wedding," and "The Band Wagon."

In addition, the following courses have an altered schedule from what is listed in the print catalog:

  • PERS120A - How to Keep Your Marbles
  • PERS307 - Mindfulness for Self-Discovery
  • MOV135A - Harmonious Movement with Another
  • MOV125 - Mindful Movement: QiGong and Stretching

Please refer to the online catalog for the most up-to-date course information.

Call for Council Candidates

As a member-driven organization, OLLI at SOU depends on the involvement of members in our governance. Council elections are held in May to choose three new Council Directors to begin a three-year term in June. If you are interested in adding your name to the ballot, please contact Laura Simonds, Leadership Development and Recruitment Committee (LDRC) member, at [email protected] by March 18, 2024.

Students in the winter term course "Adapt Your Own Script for Readers Theater" invite you to see fellow OLLI at SOU students perform nine short scripts. The members in this course have followed a process which has led them through writing, acting, staging, and performing their own Reader’s Theatre plays.

The show is Tuesday, March 5, 4:00 p.m. in the Meese Auditorium.

The Meese Auditorium is located in the SOU Art Building near Indiana St. There is no need to sign up; just attend. We hope to see you there!
