In case you missed the earlier announcement about Conversation Connections, here's the scoop.
Conversation Connections
is a new opportunity for social connections among OLLI members.
In a nutshell, these are
one-time
get-togethers with a specific topic of conversation. No preparation, not even a teacher, just someone to facilitate the exchange and everyone getting a chance to talk about something that interests them. Participation is for OLLI members only, and groups will be small (15-20 members maximum) in order to facilitate conversation and connection. RSVPs are required and on a first response basis. Locations will vary.
If you would like to set up your own Conversation Connection with other OLLI members, or have other questions, contact Rob Joseph, Social Team Lead, at
[email protected]
. There is no end to the possible topics. Rob can send you the facilitator guidelines for ideas and directions.

Spotlight on Shared Interest Groups:
Sharing Dreams
This Shared Interest Group (SIG) provides an environment in which to tell a dream and to listen to dreams. Sharing dreams has a long history cross-culturally. During the early seventies this phenomenon made a comeback. Dream groups sprouted up all over the country. Suggested reading at that time was Patricia Garfield’s Creative Dreaming. Many writers, filmmakers, poets, artists, choreographers and others were inspired by the imagery of dreams. Contact Thea Robertshaw at
[email protected]
to join this SIG.

Honoring OLLI's Past Presidents
This week we honor three past Presidents of SOLIR.
Eva Roberts was SOLIR President from 2000-2001.
Taylor Gimbel was SOLIR President from 2001-2002.
We also honor Jack Witucki, President of SOLIR from 2002-2003. Jack remembers the lovely green lawn chairs that members sat in during classes, and he oversaw the beginnings of modern technology in the classrooms. He believes that people are the strength of the organization.
