Along with the nicer weather of spring comes spring cleaning. It's time to open up those windows, let in the fresh air, and start that refresh cycle all over again!
Spring cleaning is similar to what I call a "move-out" clean. A "move-out" clean is what I recommend to homeowners that are preparing their house for a sale. Typically, homeowners complete a thorough cleaning after they've sold their house and have removed all of their belongings. In staging, I recommend this type of cleaning prior to listing (leaving one less task during the big move).
To go one step further, I recommend keeping spring cleaning
an annual event. When you keep up with this yearly clean, that "move-out" clean won't be such a chore. Spring cleaning is also a great time to take an honest assessment of things that are cluttering up your home, and removing them so you can focus on things of value to you. This too, will make the moving process a lot easier.

Closet Clutter Control...
Here are some tips to spring clean your closet:
-Pack away off-season clothes to free up space
-Before packing away off-season clothes, get rid of anything you didn't wear or that doesn't fit
-Don't forget to clean..dust off shelves, vacuum carpet, clean baseboards
Since 2005, I've been an active member of the Interior Redesign/Staging Industry Specialists (IRIS) organization - attending yearly conferences where I received many awards, elected as the local chapter president and participating on various committees. I'm sad to announce that the organization has dissolved.
I find that being part of a national organization is such a benefit to my business. That is why I am now a member of Real Estate Staging Association (RESA). I'm excited to continue my education, keep apprised of everything new regarding staging and provide you with a fabulous resource for all things staging.
