Today we head for the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the HARLEM RENAISSANCE as the first African-American movement of international modern art. See more than 160 paintings, sculptures, photography, and more, exploring how black artists portrayed everyday life in northern cities such as CHICAGO and NEW YORK in the early days of the GREAT MIGRATION. A walking tour in Harlem and lunch at SYLVIA'S restaurant is an available option.


Morning pick-up is at City Avenue and Rittenhouse Square. We will drop off in mid-town near MoMA and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Departure will be from the MET.

PUBLIC ART IN BATTERY PARK CITY

It will be wonderful to collaborate again with Sylvia, who led us brilliantly through the cultural treasures of St. Pete and beyond in January. Included in this walking tour in Lower Manhattan are historic landmarks like the Irish Hunger and Mother Cabrini Memorials as well as contemporary works by Louise Bourgeois, Jim Dine, Tom Otterness, and more. Enjoy Sunday brunch in a neighborhood of condos, playgrounds, and trendy eateries. Later, explore other monuments and museums in the area or visit the WHITNEY MUSEUM of AMERICAN ART where their always fascinating BIENNIAL will be taking place.

Included is roundtrip transportation from City Avenue and Rittenhouse Square and a two-hour walking tour. Departure will be from the WHITNEY MUSEUM.

AMERICAN BALLET THEATER presents

WOOLF WORKS

An American Premiere

SATURDAY, JUNE 29. 2024

Join us for our annual trip to the AMERICAN BALLET THEATER at LINCOLN CENTER. We have ORCHESTRA PRIME seating for a performance of WOOLF WORKS, a contemporary ballet inspired by three of Virginia Woolf’s novels: Mrs. Dalloway, Orlando, and the Waves. It will be Choreographed by Wayne McGregor, who won the Laurence Olivier Prize in 2016 for Best New Dance Production performed by London's ROYAL BALLET. Optional arrangements will be made for lunch nearby. The bus will drop off at LINCOLN CENTER and the METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART. Departure will be near LINCOLN CENTER.
