Happy Spring, North Kitsap!
Spring has sprung and we couldn't be more excited! That's because it's the time of year when we get to see our grants in action throughout the district. The $76,000 awarded to teachers last November has been transformed into classroom magic and the results are inspiring! Check out the Pearson Elementary student pictured above at a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) night funded by the North Kitsap Schools Foundation. He built his own kaleidoscope to take home. Event participants also built spectroscopes and received books to promote literacy and school-to-home connections. Kingston Students Break Out
Kingston High School  Ancient Civilizations students recently used their knowledge about Egypt to solve puzzles and unlock clues with a Breakout EDU kit funded by the NK Schools Foundation . Here's what a student had to say: β€œThe breakout activities are so much fun and really make it interesting because you have to know your stuff in order to solve the puzzles.”
Making Music @ Benaroya
Students from  Gordon, Pearson, Poulsbo  &  Wolfle Elementary schools  participated in  Seattle Symphony  Link Up this spring with support from the NK Schools Foundation. The program includes a classroom music curriculum and culminates with a field trip to  Benaroya Hall  and a chance to perform with the symphony. Wow!
