We are TaraVista: News & Information

Happy Everything!

Spring is Here. It's Hospital Week and

May is Mental Health Month.

Top of Mind

Mental Health Month is a wonderful opportunity to educate and advocate for mental health parity and awareness. Throughout my career I have spent a good deal of time working with legislators and payors to extend coverage for psychiatric care. The pandemic has served to push mental health to the forefront for our leaders and I do feel that real progress is being made.

Hospital week has taken on new meaning for me given what we have all been through over these last two years. It is a reminder that our work at Taravista is rooted in caring for people at a critical time in their illness. As in all acute care settings, the care is focused and intense. By the time patients leave, they are safe and ready for the next steps in their treatment. It is essential work that makes a real difference and we all can feel proud of the healing we provide.

Among our initiatives to support good communication and a healing community is to form a staff advisory group led by our Chief People Officer, Joel Doolin and Executive Vice President Jon Wilcox. The group is underway with an effective launch last week.

Transform is one our Vista values. And it really encapsulates the meaning of May. As caregivers, we are transforming the lives of our patients and as a team, we are transforming the way our communities treat mental health.

Thank you for all you do!

NASW Presentation

Our Chief of Social Work, M. Joyce-Anderson, presented in April at the  Massachusetts NASW annual conference.  The MA NASW chapter is the largest in the US and over 50 social workers attended. Thank you, Meghan, for representing TaraVista and MiraVista and for advancing best practices for caring for LGBTQ patients.

Single Line Only Please!

When making an edit to notes in the medical record, the proper procedure is to put a single line through the words. Please do not scratch out, use white-out or erase. It is perfectly fine to make corrections (everyone needs to!). All that is required is to put a single line through the change, date and an initial. Thank you!
