In Celebration of International Women's Day
Colorado Women's Hall of Fame Inductee Jill Tietjen, PE and Board Chair Barb Beckner presented at the Golda Meir House Museum and Education Center in Denver.
Golda Meir moved quickly up the political ladder and eventually became secretary of the Women’s Labor Council. In 1948 she helped write the Israeli Declaration of Independence. At age 70, Meir became Israel’s fourth prime minister. Meir died of Lymphoma at her home in Jerusalem in December of 1978.

Patricia Schroeder passed away on March 13, 2023. She was 82. At the forefront of the Democratic Party’s progressive movement, she was a leader on critical issues of foreign and military policy, arms control and disarmament, women’s economic equity, educational opportunity, and civil and constitutional rights and supported pro-choice legislation, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Child Abuse and Protection Act. Patricia Barela Rivera, CWHF Class of 2022 To Speak at Bold Women Change History Summit on April 22, 2023
Barela Rivera is owner and president of PBR Solutions, a Denver-based consulting firm. She previously spent 11 years as the director of the Colorado District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Her leadership experience also includes directing citizen advocacy and outreach in the governor’s office from 1994-97, being appointed by the governor as deputy director for the State of Colorado Department of Local Affairs from 1991-94, and serving on over 60 community and organization boards in Colorado during the past 35 years. Barela Rivera earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico. Details:

National Emily Warner and Women Airline Pilots Day” in celebration of Women’s History Month and Women of Aviation Worldwide Week.
Colorado U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper, and Colorado U.S. Representative Joe Neguse led a bipartisan group of Colorado lawmakers in introducing a resolution to designate March 8, 2023 as “National Emily Warner and Women Airline Pilots Day” in celebration of Women’s History Month and Women of Aviation Worldwide Week.
CWHF-produced Emily Howell Warner's film, Pushing Frontiers in the Sky was premiered at a special showing at RMPBS in Denver.
