OPENING RECEPTION - LONGWOOD ART GALLERY @ HOSTOS

Featured Artwork: It goes one ear and out the other, 2024, Jeong Hur

The Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) presents I Stood My Ground at the Longwood Art Gallery @ Hostos. This exhibition features nine artists who reimagine the use of conventional materials to expose an unconventional narrative and methodology, while inviting the viewer to learn about enigmas and perceptions that challenge the status quo.

MARCH 16TH - SESSION IV: IMPACT ON NARRATOR

BRONX MEMOIR PROJECT

Don't miss the the final hybrid BMP workshop of the season on Saturday, March 16th from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the Wakefield Library and via Zoom. In Impact on Narrator, novelist and hypnotherapist Sofia Quintero guides participants in uncovering the heart of the relationship between the narrator and their characters.

MARCH 19TH & 26TH - THE ART OF PRESENTATION: A PRACTICAL GUIDE TO BUILDING, CRAFTING, AND PERFECTING YOUR PORTFOLIO

In The Art of Presentation, performing artists, media practitioners, and visual artists will learn how to build a compelling portfolio that will make a lasting impact on prospective clients, employers, or collaborators.


The second and third workshops of this three-part virtual Artist Sustainability Workshop Series (ASWS) will take place on Tuesdays March 19th and March 26th from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM via Zoom.

APRIL 1ST DEADLINE - OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS

BRONX MEMOIR PROJECT VOLUME VIII COVER ART

BCA invites Bronx-based photographers and visual artists to design a cover for Bronx Memoir Project Volume VIII, a multi-genre anthology written during the 2023-2024 Bronx Memoir Project Workshop Series. The selected artist will receive a stipend of $500.


The application deadline is Monday, April 1st at 11:59 PM.
