Herbal Healing

As I negotiate the twists and turns of the aging process, I often take a deep dive into the field of herbology. Although a perpetual novice in this field, I know that in most cases, my body responds better to herbs than conventional allopathic medicines. I take several different herbs as needed for different purposes, mingled with Medicine Buddha prayers for all beings.

Recently, Tarn broke her wrist while ice skating, and following her cast removal, I massage her affected area with comfrey herb infused in olive oil. Comfrey, sometimes called bone-knit, has been used for centuries by indigenous people to heal wounds and for healing broken bones. There is some modern research supporting that claim. All I know is that Tarn finds it helpful.

It never ceases to amaze me how the earth offers us what we need if we learn how to listen to her teachings. I offer a prayer of gratitude every morning for the healing qualities of our planet, and all the beings who live and love in her embrace.

Much Love,

🙏🏼🌎❤️Michael

A Bee Meditation

I sit overlooking our garden and watch the insects, awakened by spring warmth, make their annual appearance. They explore the landscape for flowers and grasses, buzz about, and do whatever they do to play...

"Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression.

We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous.

We experience joy in the actual act of giving something.

And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given."

The Healing Power of Practice

Manjushri Mantra Accumulations

We have the opportunity to join our voices and intentions together through chanting the Manjushri mantra for the benefit of all beings:

OM AH RA PA TSA NA DHI

Manjushri’s sword of wisdom cuts all the sprouts of suffering. May we visualize this and heal the wounds of the planet and all lifeforms inhabiting it. We have the goal of 500,000 repetitions though our combined voices.

Remember to report your accumulations at the Dharma Center or via email through our website:
