Happy Spring! It was just a year ago that our country was experiencing a great deal of uncertainty concerning the virus, the economy, and the upcoming elections. In just a relatively short period of time, our exceptional scientific community has developed an extremely effective vaccine. At this point most of our high risk citizens have been vaccinated and the state of Georgia will be offering the vaccine to anyone over the age of 16 beginning March 25. With an increasing level of immunity, our nation is continuing to open back up. And while the economy regains its footing, we can expect further growth although we should lower our expectations from the last few years.
It will take time for supply chains and certain segments of the economy to resume full operation, but we are optimistic about our economic future. Having a solid foundation of diverse, well-managed funds is the best way to develop your portfolio for long-term investing. We are available to review your accounts and provide financial guidance for you and your family.

APPRECIATING & CELEBRATING
OUR TEACHERS
|
|
Last week, Forsyth County Schools announced the 2021 Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to Kim Sarfaty. She teaches Special Education and Pre-K at Chestatee Elementary school. At Financial Consultants Group, we are proud of all our teachers and the support they provide for our children everyday. This school year has been particularly challenging for those who work in education careers. And so we want to say "Thank you!" to each person who is involved in the education of our children. David has always had a great appreciation for teachers. His grandmother taught for over 40 years and his niece teaches Special Education in Florida. Because of this we are excited to be offering the 40 finalists for Forsyth County Teacher of the Year a complimentary financial plan from Financial Consultants Group.

HELPFUL FINANCIAL INFORMATION
|
|
Earlier this month, congress passed the American Rescue Plan. Most people are aware of the $1,400 stimulus payments that are a part of this bill. However, there are many lesser known provisions that may be of interest. For instance, there are significant enhancement to the child tax credit. Many families will realize an increased benefit, and some will even receive monthly payments to cover child related expenses. Additionally, the bill contains assistance for those who involuntarily lose their jobs in 2021. For these individuals, the government will cover the expense of COBRA from April through September. For those who qualify for unemployment in 2021, there is an increased tax credit to help pay for healthcare insurance purchased on a state exchange. This benefit continues through 2022. If you or someone you know experiences job loss, or otherwise needs financial guidance, we would be happy to help.

We are excited to tell you about Parker's Choice. This book is the most recent to be penned by our client Mike Nemeth. To sum up Parker's Choice in one sentence, Mike likes to say it is, "a love story tucked inside a murder mystery." This Southern thriller follows a man who was framed for murder through a series of events making him choose between right and wrong.
We hope you are as excited as we are to follow Parker while he embarks on this journey to prove his innocence.

As we maneuver our way through the pandemic, it is our goal to make sure our community continues to thrive. David Fountain began Fountain’s Food Adventures to shine light on local eateries and bring business to restaurants who may have faced hardships during this trying time. Luca Brasi's Pizzeria’s owner, Richard Stanley, told David that the day after the Pizza article was published, he received an influx of orders the next day. This is the goal for our articles, and we are happy to say that this has been the case for many other restaurants as well.
This month, the focus is on Barbecue restaurants, and we are excited to share our winners in Forsyth News and Gainesville Times. To read the articles, visit our website here. This Thursday, March 25 th we are holding a barbecue tasting event at Beaver Toyota from 4-6PM. We would love for you to join us and to celebrate a couple of our BBQ award winners- Tam’s Tupelo and Socks Love Barbecue!

David and several of our clients are involved with volunteering for The Place of Forsyth. An organization in Forsyth County that has done so much for local families and individuals.
We are excited for the opening of The Place Cottage, which is housing for young women with housing and food insecurity. The Place Cottage will provide a supportive atmosphere to study, building relationships, and become productive. The program staff will help residents focus on life skills, career, and education goals to reach self-sufficiency.
The Place of Forsyth would also like to announce the start of a new program in their Workforce department – Adult Training Internship. A six month paid program that targets 5 key positions and helps adults receive training needed for future success. Please email [email protected] for more information.
