30th Annual Great American Cleanup Wrap-UpGAC
The Results are in for KDB's 30th Annual Great American Cleanup!
A total of 2,236 volunteers - including local families, Boy and Girl Scout troops, school and university organizations, City leaders, and others - cleaned nearly  nine and a half TONS  of litter (989.5 bags of trash and 274.5 bags of recycling) from more than a dozen parks, schools, waterway sites, and trails, and 100 linear miles of roadway and public spaces around Denton! 

Thanks so much to all of the amazing volunteers who gave their time to help keep Denton clean, beautiful, and vibrant!

Celebrate National Arbor Day + Earth Day!
Denton Redbud Festival: April 21 Redbud
Join us on  Saturday, April 21 for  the 25 th  annual Denton Redbud Festival  at the Denton Civic Center  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

The Redbud Festival welcomes attendees of all ages, with activities including local environmental and home/garden vendors, Kids' Zone with bounce houses, a live TRASHion Fashion Runway Show at noon, educational workshops, and live music  performances  throughout  the day.  City council members will kick off the festival at 10 a.m. with KDB's 25th Annual Arbor Day tree planting in Quakertown Park. Admission is FREE!

The Denton Libraries will host a special tree-themed story time for young children
and their caregivers, starting at 11 a.m. The festival will also once again host the popular "Free Tree" class. Festival-goers who attend a 30-minute tree care class will be eligible to take home a free 3-gallon size tree. A full schedule of workshops and activities for this year's Redbud Festival will be released in advance of the event.

Nominate a Yard of the Month this Spring!YOTM
Denton is filled with gorgeous landscapes, but we need YOU to be our eyes out in the neighborhoods! If you have ever driven past a home or business and thought "Wow! What a beautiful yard!" - we need your nominations! Each month, volunteer judges select a Yard of the Month winner based on overall aesthetic, use of plants, use of color, and more. Next time you see a beautiful yard -  Nominate them for Yard of the Month .

1st Shift Volunteers
Saturday, April 21, 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Volunteer during the first half of the Redbud Festival to ensure a smooth start. 

2nd Shift Volunteers
Saturday, April 21, 12:30 - 5 p.m.
Keep the festival running smoothly by working during the event and with event tear-down and cleanup.

Trees Mean Business Program: 
Deadline is this Monday, April 2! TMB
Denton businesses, nonprofits, government orgs, schools, and churches - KDB wants to give you FREE trees! 

Apply for up to 5 FREE trees per property, including delivery and planting services. The spring deadline to apply is THIS MONDAY, April 2 at 5 p.m.

Trees Mean Business is part of the Denton Tree Initiative - a partnership between KDB and the  City of Denton  to increase Denton's tree canopy.
