Hello Newsletter Readers,

The tulips are (almost) in bloom, which means spring is basically here in downtown - the most magical time of the year! Close to 15,000 tulips will soon decorate the Pearl Street Mall in beautiful colors and textures. And what better way to celebrate than with the return of the Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival on April 24? Read on for more details about this beloved tradition.

Looking for ways to enjoy warmer spring weather downtown? Check out the many restaurants that feature outdoor patios or rooftops, and read this week's Foodie Friday for even more dining suggestions! While downtown, be sure to explore the over 150 unique retailers (82% of which are locally owned and operated).

We would also like to welcome back the Conference on World Affairs attendees and speakers. Enjoy your time downtown this beautiful spring!

Grab your calendars because this week we are featuring Boulder Arts Week, the return of the Boulder County Farmers Market and more!

Last newsletter we asked about your favorite thing about St. Patrick's Day - the top answer was parades. This week, we are thinking about springtime flowers...

Boulder Arts Week is still ongoing through this Saturday! Explore hands-on classes, film screenings, exhibits and more to fuel your creative side. And be sure to take the self-guided Mural Walking Tour by Street Wise Arts to see the city from a new perspective (our Intern Alex took the tour - discover what he found)!

Finally, don't forget to vote for the Student Banner People's Choice Award while walking the Mall. Incredible young artists from Columbine Elementary School, Casey Middle School and Boulder High School created 42 banners centered around the theme of social justice that adorn the Pearl Street Mall light poles. The student whose banner receives the most votes will win a $100 Downtown Boulder Gift Card!

Boulder County Farmers Market

April 2, 2022

It’s really springtime when the Farmers Market returns! Since 1987, the Boulder County Farmers Market (BCFM) has been making an impact on the community with local food from the ground up. The market features everything from locally sourced crafts and kombucha, potted seedlings for the home gardener, prepared foods from local bakeries, gourmet cheese, small-batch honey and artisan salsas.

BCFM is proud to be a grower's only market - this means farmers can only sell products grown on properties they own/lease, ranchers can only sell animal products raised on properties they own/lease and packaged food vendors can only sell items they directly produce. Perfect for lovers of all things local.

Head downtown every Saturday from 8 am -2 pm to enjoy the markets' offerings. Remember, every Saturday and Sunday parking in City of Boulder downtown garages is FREE!

Tulip Fairy & Elf Festival

April 24, 2022 I 1 - 5 pm

Spring officially arrives in Downtown Boulder when the beautiful, colorful Tulip Fairy, along with pint-sized fairies and elves, parade around the Pearl Street Mall "waking up the tulips." This much-beloved springtime tradition features live performances (including Jeff & Paige!), special activities for children and more than 15,000 tulips that adorn the world renowned Pearl Street Mall.

If you don't have a fairy or elf costume laying around your house, this event welcomes superheroes, princesses and any other costume that still fits from Halloween!
