Greetings and Happy Spring!
2022 marks LB Entertainment’s 16th anniversary in music and event entertainment! It is the occasion to celebrate our shared creative collaboration with our team of talented musical artists, and express our deep appreciation to our fans, and loyal and new clients for their support of our music entertainment and services.
March 2022 also marked LB Entertainment’s full return to live special events after COVID-19 hiatus. We are so excited to be reconnecting with our audience and friends and to be a part of the renaissance of the event industry. It is also an exquisite pleasure to be a part of the new cultural vitality taking place in the Philadelphia area.

ARTISTS IN CONVERSATION
Recording of New Music
The upcoming recording production and release of original compositions written by Laurent and by a cohort of impressive, virtuoso musicians, captures their cross-collaboration and exquisite work in the project. These talented musicians, including a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and saxophonist, span several genres and are committed to supporting each other and focus on their artistry. Project curated by Paul Downie.
Special concert
Juneteenth Celebration at Wallingford Arts Center on June 17:
Friday Night Live at Wallingford Arts will present a special evening of music, poetry, and dance with the Juneteenth Arts Ensemble.
This special presentation is curated by Bert Harris who is collaborating with a team of performing artist to present an uplifting evening of music, poetry and dance rooted in the African American experience. Tickets and additional information at https://communityartscenter.org/

Recent Concert Events
Celebrating the music of Harry Belafonte (April 2021)
Laurent was honored to perform at Community Arts Center in Wallingford https://communityartscenter.org/ for an exciting sold-out outdoor concert celebrating the music of Harry Belafonte. The concert was curated by Paul Downie, and featured Gumbo Nouveau and Lisa Chavous. With Bert Harris, bass; Jocko MacNelly, guitar; Paul Downie, drums/vocals; Wesley Rast, percussion/vocals; Kirk Abernathy, keys; Laurent Bass, sax; Lisa Chavous, vocals. Music veterans and instrumentalists create great music and excitement on the local jazz scene, and for many occasions.

Homage to South African composers (July 2021)
The 8th Annual Producer’s Guild & CEC Philly Jazz Trifest produced by Philly’s veteran jazz producer Leo Gadson and held at Community Education Center, presented 3 days of sublime jazz performances with some of Philadelphia’s finest musicians and groups.
Laurent performed on tenor saxophone and percussion with Bert Harris and the Afro Jazz Gumbo band, paying homage to the great South African Jazz composers. The band featured tunes by South African legendary composers Abdullah Ibrahim, Winston Ngozi, Bheki Mseleku, Ibrahim Khalil Shihab and American jazz composers McCoy Tyner and Jackie McClean.
Members of the band included stellar musicians: Bert Harris (double bass), Laurent Bass (tenor saxophone and percussion), David Fishkin (alto saxophone), David Dzubinski (piano), Pio Voluntad (drums) and Karen Smith (djembe and congas). Curated by Bert Harris

Mélange Jazz Collective – Mélange (“a mixture”) is a vibrant and innovative Philadelphia ensemble composed of musical talents from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds that combines a diverse and rich range of musical backgrounds and styles as varied as Jazz, Latin, world beat, Caribbean, New Orleans Jazz, reggae, and new music. Together for over 10 years, this exquisite group of Philadelphia music veterans and instrumentalists creates great music and excitement on the local jazz scene, and for many occasions.

April is Jazz Appreciation Month! Jazz is a prominent part of the Philadelphia area’s cultural landscape. Thank you for supporting talented local musicians and the venues that showcase their performances. Here are some of the featured events where you can catch some of Laurent’s performances.
April 9, Public event: 8:00pm-11:00pm – The Towne House Restaurant and Lounge in Media. Laurent will be performing on tenor sax and clarinet with Gumbo Nouveau, featuring bassist Bert Harris, guitarist Jocko MacNelly, drummer Paul Downie.
May 7, Public event: 8:00pm-11:00pm - Towne House Restaurant in Media, Gumbo Nouveau.
May 13, Private corporate event, The Logan, Mélange Jazz Collective Trio, featuring pianist David Dzubinski, bassist Bert Harris, saxophonist Laurent Bass.
May 14, Private corporate events, featuring classical and jazz soloists’ performances, including pianists, cellists, classical guitarists, at The Bellevue and at The Ritz-Carlton for private cocktail receptions.

About the performers: This special presentation is curated by Bert Harris in collaboration with a team of performing artist to present an uplifting evening of music, poetry and dance rooted in the African American experience. Bert is a highly regarded Philadelphia bass player and composer who has been performing in jazz, blues, and world beat ensembles in the region for many years.

Mélange Jazz Collective / LB Entertainment, LLC at The National Constitution Center, March 23, 2022
We were honored and grateful to be invited to perform for the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School’s Gala at the beautiful iconic National Constitution Center on March 23. Mélange Jazz Collective Quartet performed during cocktail hour and dinner reception with featured artists: Laurent Bass on saxophone/clarinet, Bert Harris on bass, David Dzubinski on keyboard, Paul Downie on drums.
It was a wonderful experience to work with NCC venue and their partners, Brulée Catering, and Advanced Staging Production on this event.

Learning photography has always been a dream of mine. It now has become a passion and a lifetime journey! Over a year ago, I started attending photography classes and workshops taught by experienced instructors and inspiring renown photographers, such as composition-on-location with art photographer Jenny Lynn; experimental photography with Heather Palecek; astrophotography with Imma Barrera.
To be able to capture photographic subjects and emotions in the most creative vision is a wonderful challenge.
