A New Leash on Life

This past year has been one of transformation and growth at Pets In Need. Thanks to the unwavering dedication of our team, the trust of our community, and the legacy of those who paved the way, we’ve deepened our impact and expanded our reach—serving more pets and families than ever before.

A major milestone worth celebrating: one year of incredible leadership from our Executive Director, Pam McKie. Pam’s compassion, vision, and commitment to equity in veterinary care have helped guide us through a year of meaningful change and renewed purpose.

As we look to the future, we do so with energy and optimism. From new programs to facility improvements and exciting partnerships, we’re just getting started. The best is truly yet to come—and we’re so glad you’re on this journey with us.

More Healing Paws

We’re excited to welcome several talented new veterinarians to our team! They are bringing their skills and compassion to our clinic and surgical teams, helping us expand access to care for even more pets in need. They join our longtime veterinarians, Dr. Black and Dr. Abrams, who continue to provide the expert, heartfelt care our clients know and trust. This growing team allows us to serve more families and make an even greater impact in our community. We’re grateful for their dedication and thrilled to have them on board!

THANK YOU Dr. Baum, Dr. Eilers, Dr. Lovitt, Dr. Southerland, and Dr. Zilli!

Tilly Finds Her Home—and Her People

When Vickie and Roger adopted Tilly, a silver Lab rescued from a puppy mill, she was frightened, injured, and hesitant to even eat. In the seven months since, she’s blossomed into the sweetest, most well-behaved pup, full of love and tenderness. Due to her past, Tilly now visits Pets In Need every six weeks for treatment of ruptured anal glands—care her family says has made all the difference. “I give them all the credit in the world,” Vickie shared. “Everyone is so nice and genuinely cares. Pets are a part of your family, and Tilly loves the staff at Pets In Need.” Longtime clients for over a decade, Vickie and Roger say they’re grateful to have a place where pets like Tilly are treated with compassion and dignity.

Paw-ty with a Purpose!

We’re thrilled to launch our first-ever Pets In Need Paw-ty! This special event brings together friends and supporters to celebrate, connect, and share the incredible impact of our mission. It’s more than a one-time gathering—it’s the start of something bigger: a movement to grow our community and rally support for pets and families who need us most.

Want to keep the paw-ty going? You can host your own! Whether it’s a backyard BBQ, office lunch, game night, or birthday bash, your Paw-ty can help raise awareness, collect wishlist items, and support affordable veterinary care for those who need it most.

Together, we can make a real difference—

one Paw-ty at a time.

Grate-fur to Have UCAN and OAR

We want to give a huge thank you to UCAN Nonprofit Spay & Neuter Clinic and Ohio Alleycat Resource (OAR) for stepping in when we needed help! These organizations have been vital resources in providing low-cost spay and neuter services to keep pets healthy and prevent unwanted litters. When we faced a high demand for surgeries, their teams helped ensure that our clients' pets received the care they needed. Their commitment to making veterinary care accessible aligns perfectly with our mission, and we’re so grateful for their partnership.

Legacy of Love

Lexie has been part of the Pets In Need story since day one—back when we were just a tiny clinic with a big dream. As a former board member—alongside her husband, who also served—devoted volunteer, and now a passionate donor for our end-of-life care program, she’s poured her heart into every stage of our journey. Lexie says it’s been “so inspiring” to watch us grow! It's her support that helped spark the creation of our cremation program—born from heartbreak, but rooted in love. Her kindness, vision, and belief in our mission continue to make a difference for pets and the people who love them. We’re endlessly grateful for everything she’s done (and continues to do!) to help us thrive.
