Frost laws
Frost laws may be going into effect soon (potentially in the next week or two, weather depending), which can impact heavy deliveries and equipment moves that delay projects. If you have a project that requires large loads, now is the time to get them scheduled. Reach out to PF early so we can help keep your job on track!

Location Leader update
We’re excited to announce that Warren Wynn will be stepping into the Boyne City Location Leader role beginning in early March! Warren brings broad operational knowledge, steady leadership, and a genuine commitment to his team and to growth from his time leading our Harbor Springs location. We’re grateful for the impact he has made in Harbor Springs and appreciate his willingness to take on this next opportunity!
The Location Leader provides overall leadership for the branch, ensuring daily operations run smoothly while keeping the customer experience at the center of everything we do. This role invests in the development of the team, builds strong working relationships with customers and partners, and looks for practical ways to improve processes and execution. At its core, the position is about leading people well, supporting consistent service, and helping the location operate with accountability and care.
While Warren begins his new venture in Boyne City, we will be working with the Harbor Springs team to ensure proper coverage and leadership support as we look for the right candidate.
Join us in thanking Warren for his contributions in Harbor Springs and congratulating him on this next step!

A new decision center taking place
Work has begun on a new display area in the Boyne showroom. Pardon our dust as we begin to move some inventory around to make room for expanded building material displays and refreshed window, door, cabinetry, and countertop selections.
The updated space will feature dedicated displays for AZEK/TimberTech, LP, CertainTeed, Trex, railings and various other building solutions.
We are also updating our specialty products showroom with refreshed cabinetry and countertop displays and enhanced window and door exhibits featuring partners such as Marvin, Andersen Corporation, and Therma-Tru.
We look forward to providing builders, architects, and homeowners with a more comprehensive, hands-on environment for evaluating products and making confident project decisions.

Traverse City expansion update: progress in motion | |
In the fall we shared plans for expanding our Traverse City operations, we’re excited to report that the project is moving right along and the results have begun to take shape.
Our new 30,000 sq ft. warehouse building is nearly complete, dramatically increasing both indoor and covered outdoor storage capacity. Interior and exterior racking is installed, interior finishes are underway in the new dispatch building, and final exterior site work will wrap up once the ground thaws this spring. We’re targeting late spring 2026 to complete paving and begin operating fully out of the new facilities.
What does this mean for you?
More protected storage. The expanded warehouse and additional covered yard space allow us to keep more product dry, protected, and ready to deliver — even through Northern Michigan winters. That translates directly to improved material quality and fewer weather-related delays on your jobsites. No more chipping ice off your treated plates to get started building walls.
Stronger inventory position. With added capacity, we can stock deeper and broader, helping keep projects on schedule and reducing the risk of supply interruptions.
Improved traffic flow. We’re adding additional parking and new truck entrances on both the north and south ends of the property. The goal is simple: safer, smoother in-and-out access for contractors, supplier deliveries, and our delivery fleet.
This investment reflects our long-term commitment to supporting the custom builders and contractors who drive this region. We appreciate your continued partnership and look forward to welcoming you to the upgraded Traverse City location this spring. Stay tuned for information about an Open House we will be hosting this summer!

We’re excited to welcome Dan Whaley to Preston Feather Building Centers as our newest service technician, supporting builders and contractors with window service needs.
Dan brings 18 years of hands-on experience, including 11 years in appliance repair and 7 years as a window technician. Based out of our Traverse City location, he operates a fully stocked service van and is trained in both Marvin and Andersen window repair and installation. He’ll be assisting with warranty calls, diagnostics, on-site repairs, and adjustments to help keep your projects on schedule.
Dan joins Tucker Bartz (Harbor Springs) and our dedicated service coordinator, Tina, giving us expanded capacity and faster response times. Tina remains your main point of contact for submitting and tracking service requests and scheduling technicians.
Service requests can be submitted online at PrestonFeather.com under the Window & Door tab or through your Window & Door Sales Representative.
Please join us in welcoming Dan to the PF team as we continue strengthening our service support across Northern Michigan.

If you’ve been building in Northern Michigan for any amount of time, you know some products just earn their place on your go-to list. Not because of flashy ads or trend cycles — but because they perform, look right, and don’t create headaches down the road.
Lately, we’ve been spending more time around two product lines that continue to prove themselves on job sites and in finished homes: windows and doors from Marvin Windows and decking from AZEK TimberTech. Not because they’re new to the market — but because they consistently deliver where it counts.
FOR MORE INFORMATION, give us a call, stop in to one of our design showrooms or visit the links below.

Windows That Fit the House and the Climate
One of Marvin’s greatest strengths is the depth of their lineup — allowing you to match the product to the project, not the other way around.
The Essential Collection (all fiberglass) continues to be a reliable choice in our market, offering clean lines, low maintenance, and strong performance through seasonal temperature swings. The Elevate Collection pairs a durable fiberglass exterior with a warm wood interior — giving homeowners the best of both worlds.
For projects that demand more design flexibility, the Signature Collection offers expanded sizes and custom configurations. And for the contemporary lakefront builds we’re seeing more of, the Modern Collection delivers narrow sightlines, expansive glass, and bold, oversized units.
In Northern Michigan’s climate, performance matters. Marvin’s fiberglass exteriors are engineered for stability through freeze/thaw cycles, helping maintain seals and long-term energy efficiency — without sacrificing glass area when the view is the priority.
They look great. They install predictably. And they hold up. That’s what makes them a consistent go-to.

Azek Timbertech Decking - Built for Real-World Conditions
In our climate — intense sun, heavy moisture, and constant freeze/thaw cycles — durability matters. TimberTech’s capped polymer (PVC) decking is engineered to resist moisture, rot, and insects, with no wood filler to swell. The protective cap helps guard against staining, scratching, and fading, and fastening systems allow for clean, hidden finishes.
One feature homeowners immediately appreciate? It’s engineered to stay cooler to the touch than traditional composite or treated lumber — a noticeable difference on full-sun and waterfront decks in July and August.
Complete the project with TimberTech railing systems for a cohesive look. Composite and aluminum options integrate cleanly with deck boards, with lighting features that enhance safety and elevate the overall design — especially on lakefront or elevated builds.
If you haven’t explored the current TimberTech colors and textures lately, stop in. We have samples and displays at all five PF locations and can help match the right product to your project.
