Election Information
We're one week from Election Day! Here is some helpful information for voters in Spring Lake Township.

To check your voter registration status, find your polling place location, view a sample ballot or track an absentee ballot, visit the Michigan Voter Information Center.
Voter Registration
The deadline for registering to vote by mail or online has passed. To register to vote in the November 3 election you must register at the Clerk's office. You may register until 8pm on Election Day.

You must bring proof of eligibility and proof of residency. Documents to prove your residency must have your name and current address. Acceptable documents include a Michigan driver's license or state ID, current utility bill, bank statement, paycheck or government check, or other government document.
Absentee Ballots
You can still request an absentee ballot. The deadline for receiving an absentee ballot is 4pm on Monday, November 2. The Clerk's office will be open for absentee ballots and other election business on Saturday, October 31, from 8am to 4pm.

If you want to pick up your absentee ballot, be sure to bring a photo ID. You may stay in the office and vote your ballot here, or you may take it home. On Monday, November 2, you will be required to stay and vote your absentee ballot.

We can also mail you your ballot to you until 5pm on Friday, October 30. You may email a photo of your application to, mail your application, or drop it in one of our drop boxes - behind Stan's next to the USPS box, at the front of our building, or behind our building.

Remember to sign your absentee envelope and return it to Township Hall. Alternatively, you may put your ballot in one of our drop boxes.

We must receive your ballot at Township Hall, not the precinct, by 8pm on November 3.

You may check the progress of your absentee ballot on the Michigan Voter Information Center website.
Voting at the Polls on November 3
All of our regular precincts will be open on Tuesday, November 3, from 7am to 8pm. You are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Lines may appear longer than usual due to social distancing, but our election inspectors will be working diligently to keep the process moving.

For everyone's safety, election inspectors will be wearing masks or face shields, and we will be sanitizing high-touch surfaces regularly. We will also have hand sanitizer available.

if you requested an absentee ballot due to uncertainty about the COVID situation, but decide to vote in person, we would prefer to have you spoil your ballot at Township Hall by Saturday, October 31. This will allow you to vote in person with the least delay. If you do not return your ballot early, you may still vote in person. Bring your ballot with you to spoil, or sign the Affidavit of Absent Voter stating you do not have the ballot. NOTE - if you have voted and returned your absentee ballot, you will not be able to vote in person.
