Residential accessory buildings shall be constructed with durable, hard-sided materials, such as wood, metal, or pre-manufactured siding, that are weather and rust resistant. Residential accessory buildings which consist of construction materials such as a plastic tarp or other type of flexible fabric or similar material, stretched over a frame of poles, have been prohibited in the Township since 2012.
There are also limits on the size of an accessory building, based on the size of your lot. See Section 306 of the Zoning Ordinance for more information.
If you are planning to build an accessory building, a zoning permit is necessary. A building permit is only necessary for accessory buildings larger than 200 square feet.
