Water Tower Park Grant Application
Spring Lake Township is submitting a grant application to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund for accessibility improvements to Water Tower Park. As part of our application, you are invited to provide input on proposed improvements at Water Tower Park, 16181 Van Wagoner Rd. Proposed improvements include a new parking lot, walkways, lighting, signage and fencing.

The public hearing will be held at the Recreation Committee meeting on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 7pm at Barber School, 102 W Exchange St.

Property Assessment Information
Assessment Change Notices will be mailed at the end of February. These are the statements that say "THIS IS NOT A TAX BILL."

The Assessment Change Notice will inform you of changes in your assessed and taxable values. The notice includes the Inflation Rate Multiplier for the upcoming year, the new assessed values, the Principle Residence Exemption (PRE) percent, the current owner of record, and the dates and times for the March Board of Review.

March Board of Review begins March 14, 2022. We schedule 10-minute appointments for taxpayers who wish to appeal their assessment. We accept written appeals, but the must be received by the deadline listed on the Assessment Change Notice.

Step It Up Fitness Challenge
Are you interested in getting out and getting some steps this spring? Or maybe you're interested in exploring the trails and parks in Ottawa County. The Step it Up! program is a free 8-week walking program designed to help participants get active and visit new parks in Ottawa and Allegan counties.

Within the program, Ottawa County Parks & Recreation will offer multiple guided walks each week. To encourage participants to discover new recreational activities, the program also offers opportunities to try kayaking, orienteering, and more. These activities and any necessary equipment are free of charge to registered participants.

Registration is now open! The program begins April 11.

400 Million to Support Businesses
The Chamber of Commerce Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg is sharing that the State has announced an additional $400 million to support businesses, retain or create jobs, and boost Michigan's economy.

Businesses interested in applying are encouraged to attend an informational webinar hosted by the state Treasury Department.
