Spring Season begins Monday May 5
The Ontario Volleyball Association is thrilled to be offering our 15th season of Beach Volleyball joy at Ashbridges Bay & Woodbine Beach! Thank you for joining, and we hope you have as much fun this season as we do!
The first week of games, we will be holding a captains meeting (all are welcome) at approximately 6:30pm. The meeting will be about 10 minutes long, introducing you to the league, giving you a quick orientation of the beach, and answering any questions you may have. This email will cover in depth the topics discussed at the beach.
Spring Season Summary:
Mondays starts May 5 & ends June 23. No games May 19
Tuesdays starts May 6 & ends June 24
Wednesdays starts May 7 & ends June 25
Thursdays starts May 8 & ends June 26

We will be using a the mobile app called MyTeam.Click to post schedules and teams will be entering their own results.

VERY IMPORTANT: Watch this video to inform Captains & Players on how to enter scores and check schedules using their smart phones.
- Standings will be available on the app.

In the app, teams can also declare themselves absent by 5:00PM on gameday so the schedule can be adjusted in real time and we can avoid defaults as much as possible.
Cheat Sheet Summary for Using MyTeam.Click app:
- To consult the schedule and enter your scores, download the mobile app "MyTeam.Click" for Android or iOS.
- Captains: Login with the same email used to register your team. If you do not yet have a password for MyTeam.Click:
- in the Login window, click on "Forgot password" and you will get a randomly generated password by email.
- Add the rest of your players to your team.
- In the app, open the menu, select "Find league" and enter "Ashbridges".
- Select your league
- Click on "Modify my team" at the bottom.
- Click "+" to add players and select "Find player by email".
- Make sure there is no typo in the email or they won't be able to login.
- Only players who are part of a team can enter scores and use the tab called "My matches".
- You must enter your scores directly into the mobile app at the end of each set.
- If you have been added to a team, the events for this league should be visible in the welcome screen in MyTeam.Click after you login.
- If you don't see the events on your welcome screen or are not allowed to enter scores then the system does not recognize you as a player in this event. Make sure that you logged in with the same email your captain used to add you to the team. If emails match, consult your league admin to make sure there was not a typo in the email used to add you.
- If you have not yet been added to your team roster, you can still view your league's schedule.
- Open the app, go to menu, click on "Find league" and enter "Ashbridges".
- Select your weekly league and click "Schedules".
- Select the schedule for the event you wish to view.
- In "Pools", you can view any team's schedule by clicking on their name and selecting "View schedule".
Administrative Details
- All teams qualify for playoffs on the final week of games
- The start time for the Spring leagues is 6:45pm and will finish at approximately 8:15pm (at dusk)
- Weekly playing schedules will be available only online
- Teams play 3 matches each week of the regular season. (Playoffs are a different format and all teams make the playoffs) Each match will be 2 games
- Matches are approx 30 minutes each and all games are rally point scoring
- First game plays to 21 points, win by 2 with a cap of 23 and second game is played until time expires
- There will be a 2-3 minute break between matches for court switches
Equipment
- Equipment will need to be collected by the main admin tent area by the courts this year.
Note: At the end of the final set of game, teams are responsible for taking down and returning the nets and lines to the shed. How to take down nets & lines video
- Try to have at least 1 person arrive early to get the equipment setup
- Court Sizes: The blue lines are adjustable and the 6s and 4s/2s will play with slightly different sizes:
- 6s => 9m (metres) x 9m (fully extended).
- 4s & 2s => 8m x 8m (use the green lines 8m x 8m or adjust the blue lines -slide the guides on the corners and middles to the 8m marking)
- Volleyballs are available for your team's nightly use. The league will be using Mikasa balls. Each team can get 1 ball at the start of the night. Please pick them up and return them to the equipment shed at the beginning and end of the night
Individual Online Waivers

Players MUST be on the roster before they can sign a waiver. Waivers can be accessed here.
- You must be at least 18 years of age to participate in the Ashbridges Bay Beach Volleyball Leagues
Team Rosters
- Must be completed online.
- In the MyTeam.Click app, open the menu, select "Find league" and enter "Ashbridges".
- Select your league (Ex. Spring Wednesday)
- Click on "Modify my team" at the bottom.
- Click "+" to add players and select "Find player by email".
- Make sure there is no typo in the email or they won't be able to login.
- Only players who are part of a team can enter scores and use the tab called "My matches".
- To be eligible to participate in the playoffs an individual must be on your team roster and have played 3 nights with your team
- The maximum roster sizes are as follows
- 2s: 2 people
- 4s: 6 people
- 6s: 8 people

Beach Cleanliness
- Please leave the Beach clean and kindly put your garbage and recycling in the proper containers
- Please make an effort to not use disposable drinking containers (ie: plastic water bottles)
- Please Please Please!!! NO GLASS

- We encourage you to review all rules, but especially those of your specific division, before game night
- All play is self-refereed; if you violate a rule please call it yourself and expect the same from the opponents
Parking
- As a City of Toronto Park, there will be a $5 (pending) charge to park after 5pm on weekdays. Usually this starts Victoria Day but has started earlier in previous year. Please read the signs carefully when parking.

Weather
- Games are played rain or shine

On extreme weather days please check for updates on Facebook @Ashbridges, or Instagram @ashbridges_volleyball. Information will be updated from 4:30-6:30pm
- In case of cancellation due to weather, we will update Facebook and the website, and send an email to the captains.
Final Notes
- No alcohol is allowed on Woodbine Beach or in the Ashbridges Bay Park
- There are washrooms & change rooms available for players at the Bathing station
