Community in Action:

Supporting Habitat for Humanity Volunteers

undefined

Recently, MEGA had the privilege of supporting an incredible group of volunteers working with Habitat for Humanity Pennyrile Region by delivering lunch to the dedicated “care-a-vanners.” These volunteers travel across the country to help build safe, affordable housing for families in need—and this group represented Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Louisiana.

During our visit, we had the opportunity to walk through the home currently under construction. The walls are filled with handwritten scripture and inspirational messages, a meaningful reminder that this home is being built with heart, purpose, and community support. We were honored to leave a message on behalf of MEGA and the Muhlenberg County Housing Coalition.

And exciting news — we officially have a roof! Progress is continuing daily, and it has been incredible to watch this house come together piece by piece. We cannot wait to see the finished product and celebrate the impact it will have for a local family. We are so grateful for every volunteer, donor, and supporter who has helped make this possible.

We also want to recognize the many organizations that have supported the volunteers over the past three weeks by providing meals and treats: Second Baptist Church (Greenville), Farmers Bank & Trust, Paligen Technologies, Concord Baptist, Lawton Insurance, and Indy Winders.

It truly takes a community to build a home, and we are grateful to be part of this effort.

Last week at the Badgett Center, opportunity filled the room!

With 30 employers in attendance and multiple training and personal resource organizations available to assist individuals on their career journey, the event showcased the power of community collaboration and workforce development.

Even more exciting — there were more than 350 open positions represented in the room that day alone! From career opportunities to support services, attendees had access to valuable connections and resources designed to help them succeed.

Thank you to all the employers, partners, and attendees who helped make the event a success!
