Freight, Standby & Other Reminders
Please review our policies below to help us ensure a smooth busy season.
Deliveries and Freight Procedures
Call the office for all deliveries that are not being delivered by UPS, FedEx and USPS.
Call ahead for all large freight items (including appliances, lumber and items over 70 lbs etc.).
PBIT supports the local Bristol restaurants who deliver takeout items to the ferry. Take-out orders must be marked with the customer's name and drivers must board the vessel with crew permission to load take-out food. Take-out orders must be picked up on the island side by the customer. Crew members will not handle take-out orders. Take-out orders that remain on-board the boat will be disposed of.
PBIT is not responsible for the transport of perishable, refrigerated or frozen items. Only perishable, refrigerated or frozen items transported by contracted shippers (UPS, FedEx and USPS) will be transported. Shippers of these items must prepare them with proper cold packs and insulated containers to handle ferry travel. These items must be picked up within 3 days from the Prudence Office or will be disposed of.
Standby Procedures
You must be physically present at the ferry terminal to be placed on standby.
Standby is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Oversize Vehicle Procedures
All oversize and trailer reservations must be booked through a ticket staff member. We are available via email at Admin@PI-Ferry.com or by phone 401-683-0430. Please note that these reservations are only booked Monday - Friday.
Prudence Island Parking lot
Please reserve the center lane of the parking lot on Prudence Island for day parking only. These spaces are necessary for those commuting off island for work, school, appointments etc.
