REACH Prep News: Spring Highlights 2022
Workshop Helps Scholars Navigate
High School Course Selection
Over the winter and early spring we held multiple workshops for REACH Prep middle school students and their parents. One of the workshops, "How to Create the Ultimate 4-Year High School Plan," was designed to help 8th grade families understand and explore course selections for high school. Rene Gaspar, Director of 8th, 9th and 10th Grades at REACH Prep, presented a big picture view of the academic experience for the next four years. Then parents and students worked together to identify potential courses that would meet their academic goals. We were excited to work with these families to help them gain a deeper understanding of the academic landscape ahead.

Prep Academy Teaches Technology
Prep Academy students have been learning the basics of digital image editing using an online web editor. In the assignment pictured here, students illustrated their dreams by designing images that showcase the use of layers, opacity, gradients, transformations and more. Future technology lessons include working with text, correcting images, and image alterations in the media.

REACH Prep helped me get into a school with a robotics club, and introduced me to Girls Who Code. I look forward to interning this summer at Google headquarters and pursuing software engineering, web development,
and STEM education."
