A Message from our Program Coordinator:
Hello Awesome Providers!

I hope you are all well and staying healthy and safe. Boy, this Covid thing has been a long road. You are all amazing first responders. What you did and continue to do makes such a difference in our communities. Sometimes when we hit a long, long season like this, we forget to take a minute to look back at what we have weathered and how it has shaped and strengthened us. Thank you for keeping your commitment to children and families. Thank you for guiding early learners to creative explorations, successful self-regulation, and empathy for others. History will show how this season changed the childcare landscape for the better. You are appreciated!
Here, at Care Connections & Education, we are working our way back into in-person opportunities for you. May 14th we will be holding our Annual Spring Fling provider appreciation event and training. Mark your calendars, it is going to be gooooood! The best part, this is our first year providing this simultaneously in Klamath Falls. Spring Fling will be located at our local community colleges KCC and UCC! There will be 6 hours of training, lunch, door prizes, and vendors. You will not want to miss it. See our training calendar for more details and keep an eye out for a postcard closer to the event.

We are also excited to announce that we have two new employees joining our team. Alexis Mann, our new Early Learning Support Specialist, will be located in our Klamath office supporting new programs, outreach efforts and helping new KCC students in a new network opportunity. Cherry Camonayan is our new Quality Improvement Specialist. Cherry will be developing our training calendar, providing training and working with Dani to support our UCC students. This is an exciting time as we work to promote the importance of quality early learning, training, higher education and the profession.
I am ready for Spring and seeing your sweet faces again in a class or conference sometime soon. Can’t wait!

Sincerely,

Heather

Klamath's Focus Child Care Network

It is so exciting to see that Spring is nearly here! To celebrate, we will be hosting our very own Spring Fling on May 14th. More to come soon!

Our Focused Child Care Network cohort continues to celebrate our early educators! Let’s all do a Hip! Hip! Hooray! for Linda Veronica Piceno (Vero), for becoming our latest licensed early childhood educator from our FCCN group of Spanish speakers. Vero, has been working hard to get her program going. She has made many modifications to her home, continues to care for an infant and has been taking ECE classes since the fall of 2019.  She is currently enrolled at KCC continuing to learn about the care and education of young children. We wish her all the best! Congratulations Vero!

We continue to meet virtually with our group. While we enjoy seeing each other via zoom, there is nothing like working and training together in person. This is one reason we are so excited about the upcoming Spring Fling May 14th! We have a day planned to celebrate YOU! Our early educators! Please mark this day and plan on attending.

Congratulations to all of you who applied for and received the Stabilization Grant offered by the Early Learning Division! This will provide a much-needed financial boost to our child care community!

We know many of you rely on the CCR&Rs for training, resources, and information to support the care and education that you offer to children and families. It is such a joy to be a part of your journey!
Back to School Cohort Update
Happy Spring Season. Spring term is rapidly approaching and the UCC ECE Back to School Cohort is growing and blooming! We are welcoming not only new cohort members this term but a new Navigator as well. Cherry is a welcomed addition to the team and I look forward to working alongside her to support this group of students that I am proud to be a part of!

We are getting ready to pay out our incentives for Fall and Winter terms, that’s about $2000 directly in our participants pockets! In addition to this we will have paid out $5000.00 in tuition assistance and fees. The part that makes this to good to be true is that there is more money coming! There’s no time like now to get your degree or cert if Early Childhood Education. Check out the options, Social Science and Education Degrees and Certificates - Umpqua Community College

Spring Registration is now open and there are several classes available to fit your schedule and educational needs. Classes start on March 28th, take a look at the UCC Website or give myself or Dr. Sally Guyon a chance to help map your degree. We have supports in place to help people just like you.
Not sure if this is right for you? Let’s setup a time to meet. One on one meetings not your thing? Join us on April 1st (no kidding) from 5:30 to 7:00 at UCC to get your questions answered. Email or call any time. 541-492-6606.
