Spring Newsletter: Celebrating HOME!

Last year, I asked you to join me in  raising an additional $1 million as part of our 100th anniversary celebration. I am pleased to announce that, thanks to donors and friends like you,  we have met our goal ! With these additional funds, we purchased two new buildings for HOMES, our supportive affordab le housing program for formerly homeless parents and children. We also established the Family Stability Fund, which helps families overcome the barriers between them and safe stable housing.

FamilyAid Boston is providing parents and children with housing, empowering them to overcome barriers, and working with them to build a foundation for future stability and success. I believe that we can come together as a community to end the family homelessness crisis and create a city in which every family, regardless of income, has a place to call home.

I would like to thank you for your tremendous support of our efforts. I, along with the families we serve, am deeply grateful for your continued support and generosity.

Richard E. Ring, President

HOMES Open House

This January, FamilyAid Boston hosted an open house at our newest 4 unit HOMES supportive affordable housing property. Our longtime partner CORT generously donated the furnishings for the unit, which will be home to a mother and her three children who are moving out of shelter.

This event gave our partners a chance to see a physical representation of how, through their
support,  we are able to create more permanent,
supportive housing for formerly homeless
families in Boston!

Permanent, affordable, supportive housing is essential for families to maintain long-term stability. As FamilyAid Boston President Richard Ring points out, ""From the outside, no one knows these buildings are 'affordable housing.' Families are able to be part of the community. They can be close to jobs, schools, and the community resources that are so critical as they work to regain stability.

We will keep growing this program so long as there are families in need, willing partners, and properties available. The sky is the limit."

We are grateful to our partners CORT and First Republic, for making it possible for us to create 4 units of affordable housing. For more photos from the event, visit our Facebook page!

Running to End Homelessness

On April 17, 2017, 15 dedicated athletes will run the 2017 Boston Marathon in support of FamilyAid Boston and the hundreds of parents and children we work with each year.

Our team consists of runners from all across the country who are working together with one goal: to raise funds in support of parents and children experiencing homelessness in Boston! We are so proud of our team! Their run for homeless families exemplifies the strong spirit of community and generosity that have grown to characterize the Boston Marathon.

The runners have been training hard and working tirelessly to raise $100,000 to help homeless families return to housing and stability. Visit our team's CrowdRise fundraiser page to make a gift today!
